I think Whiteys mind is playing tricks! We had a couple of ordinary ones mid season according to my season highlights tape (the one where Todd Viney talks you through every game), including a particularly nasty one against St Kilda but no 100 point losses. The big losses were when we had a lot of experienced blokes out injured (including Neitz with a broken leg). We actually started the season well - an honourable loss to the Dockers in Round 1 in Perth and then a 25 point win against North in round 2.

Meh...more useless media conferences from the leadership group. I just can't see the point in these interviews.

Next week it will be Yze spinning some 'try-hard' upbeat dribble after another flogging.

Warren, I don't this article was referring to the start of 98, rather two games in isolation.

Poor...Jeff...his perspective is relevent as his game.

Yes, in 98 we had a couple of 'lapses' during the season...but at least our little red and blue wagon had been rolling, at times very nicely. Fast forward to 2008 and our wagon not only isnt rolling, the wheels are wobbly, the paints chipped from hitting the deck a bt too often and when it does move forward it lurches distinctly to the side incapable of rolling in a straight line.!!

Oh hang on..I see where the similarity is......In your DREAMS JEff !!

Jeff...look up a dictionary...fumble around the D's ( like you do in games ) and stop when you find DENIAL... read it..and add it to you vocabulary..Your kidding yourself mate.

Give the guy a break. Jeez . . . sometimes I think my fellow Melbourne supporters actually actively dislike the guys who play for our club.

Give him a break.. ..why ? he opened his mouth. He's open to cooment. For what its worth I thought what he said was garbage. Now I dont know wheterh someone stuck a mike under his nose and asked him for the first 100 or so words he could think of or if he actually beleives it. More worry if its the latter as this season and that are very different.

I feel it more that ok to dissitate upon what a player says.

I dont like nor dislike the bloke.. I do think he's past it as an effective and first line contributor to any forward style of play. But that has nothing to do with my view on what he has to SAY !!

About the only thing in common with 1998 is an "8" and the colours of our jumper !!

Our list in 98 was a lot better then today look at the spine Lyon/Neitz, The OX, Viney, Ingerson, Shanahan. Then ad in the 2 Febey's, Tingay, Stynes, Hopgood, Smith The wiz, Chell, Rigoni plus some kids White, Robbo, TJ. I'm sure I have mist but that team should of won the Flag.

2024 Player Reviews: #36 Kysaiah Pickett

The Demons’ aggressive small forward who kicks goals and defends the Demons’ ball in the forward arc. When he’s on song, he’s unstoppable but he did blot his copybook with a three week suspension in the final round. A couple of Demonland Trackwatchers braved the rain and headed down to Gosch's paddock to bring you their observations from the second day of Preseason training for the 1st to 4th Year players. DITCHA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I attended some of the training today. Richo spoke to me and said not to believe what is in the media, as we will good this year. Jefferson and Kentfield looked big and strong.  Petty was doing all the training. Adams looked like he was in rehab.  KE

2024 Player Reviews: #1 Steven May

The years are rolling by but May continued to be rock solid in a key defensive position despite some injury concerns. He showed great resilience in coming back from a nasty rib injury and is expected to continue in that role for another couple of seasons. 2024 Player Reviews: #4 Judd McVee

It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield. There could be more of that in 2025.
