might I add..

2 players cleared by the previous admin to make way for our new and exciting midfield.

scott thompson

steven armstrong

could we pls have them back..

We have got to stop all this carry on about trading Scott Thompson. He had a desparate family need to go back to Adelaide and asked for a trade to an Adelaide club. We reluctantlly agreed. There is no way that we initiated the trade.

Steven Armstrong was delisted with good reason.

Ho hum, yeah, lets bash the players, that'll help.

Mclean had a dog of a day.

And Davey - I mean seriously, getting injured? He just must not care about the jumper.

Finger....

Pull....

Out....

McLean, Ray, Cooney, Sylvia and Bradley......

2003 is turning into one of the most ordinary drafts of all.

Adcock in the 30s is the only redeeming factor.

McLean and Sylvia are more pedestrian than a school crossing.

Cooney was just about BOG last week and will be very good

Yep McLean wasn't much good, but add it to the list. IMO Carroll easily the dees best, Morton good and...*sound of wind through a deserted town*.

Only saw the second half but Johnson looked ok and tried hard - just needs to learn his limitations in foot skills a little more.

Miller also looked ok in the last quarter as the lead up CHF

Agreed on Weetra! probably wouldnt get a game at any other club. We gotta keep playing him though as green as he is!

Probably wouldn't get a game for a B-grade amateurs side either!

Put in a stinker today. Looks like he was hungover or something. Was outmarked one on one constantly, poor awareness and leadership. The fire in the belly wasnt there. He didnt look too upset about his misfortunes. I guess its easy to get used to tho when we've one 5 games in the last year and a bit including pre season.

Cooney is as lazy as TJ.

In their 5th year, the class of 2003 has signinficantly underperformed all previous years at the same poiint.

The fact that you only saw the second half may partially explain your blinkered view of Carroll.

This really should be a year that Brock takes the next step. We've seem patches and glimpses of what he's capable, 2007 was ruined by injury, but IMO at this point i think he's trying to do too much. I think he recognises that we need someone to step up but he's not there yet. He should just go back to basics, first option and kick the bloody thing. He does or did have good disposal, it's just his footy mind seems to be out of wack at the moment.

Looked overweight as well.

Have to really wonder what was going on in his head today, wouldn't surprise me if the AFL targeted him for a drug test after the game because he really looked like he was on something

What a helpful / constructive comment that is!

7 tackles and 9 contested possessions. the effort is there. he is just out of form and getting support only from Jones in the middle. Oh for a ruckman who could lay some of the opposition midfielders flat to create some space in the middle. If you want to lineup some players, have a crack at White, Green and (a bit harsh due to his experience) Weetra. White provides little in the way of direction when he hangs around half back. Green endangers teammates when he handballs to them and Weetra shows neither the determination or desperation required.

I agree with your analysis of his game.

Looking at the stats in the paper today, he had equal number of clearances, and 20 disposals (same as Jones). What killed his game was the 6 unforced, critical errors he made.

Usually his disposal and decision making is spot on, even if he is not that quick on his feet.

I thought that at ball-ups, he and Jones worked beautifully, especially in the first half, to get their hands on the ball 9 out of 10 times.

Problem is that he struggled in space, he was constantly put under pressure by his teammates with stupid handballs (those damn handballs!!!) and he coughed the ball up at the wrong times. As the game went on, he got more and more frustrated and started giving away stupid free kicks.

Overall he had a poor game, but was hardly the biggest offender on the day.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
