Pick 4

there could be a great demand for pick 4 from a club who is trying to secure the judd trade... carlton, collingwood and essendon will all be looking for another top selection if judd wants to go to their club... one that comes to mind is Carlton trading Fevola for pick 4... carlton supporters may say that fev is worth more than pick 4, probably true, but if they need it to secure Judd, then it still could happen...

We could always ask a collingwood for a player/s that Bailey feels that we need and swap 1st round picks with them?

Didak, Pendlebury and Pick 14 for Pick 4?

Wouldn't matter how good the deal is, not sure I could stomach helping them get Judd....

We would be already out of the running for Judds services if we are to trade with pick 4. We could benefit if another club wants to gain Judd.

very good point. im not sure if collingwood has anyone id want to give up pick 4 for however...if a team wants to get judd and they want our first round pick i want to be trading that pick for a KP.

id take pedles or thomas, just to annoy them, the rest wouldnt touch with a 10 foot pole

I would take pendelbury of the pies in a heart beat. if judd says the pies thats what we should offer them.

pendlebury is so overrated

Soft as butter

How he finished ahead of Jones in the Rising Star is beyond me

yeah..close between jones and pendlebury..hes good..ive watched most of the pies' games this year, he's better than thomas

i hate thomas..only cos im good mates with xav ellis' brother

u idiot.

just looks at Pendlebury's stats. He has huge impact on games has oustanding skills which are damaging, can kick goals and is ultra athletic.

pendlebury>Jones and i am as biased a demons supporter as there is.

Spot on.! And Thomas I reckon goes alright too.

Fair enough. I assumed we were trying to be determine who we could spend this year's pick 4 on, realistically.

In that case I agree with you, omho no other available player is worth pick 4, I'd prefer to take a punt on Masten, Morton or Ebert.

you know the thing with cloke, is that he seems to do a lot of things right but he cant kick. he really cant. i havnt watched him close enough to see if its because his kicking action is deficient, or if its in the head or what. if it was something the recruiters and footy dept. thought was fixable then yes, in a heartbeat, but if he's gonna be just another player who cant kick goals but should be, well then...

he is young and can mark however, and this type of player is not too be sneezed at, so ignore that trade at your own peril.

thinking some more, if we could secure cloke for pick 4 so collingwood could judd i would take it, and i would trade robbo to the bullies for their first rounder, maybe throw something else in if we needed too...

robbo would become redundant, cloke would be the other forward, (with neitz and newton next year). and the 1st round pick would then be worth more...

What if the pies were to offer Cloke for Pick 4?

I don't watch many Pies games so am unsure of how good he is, but I know he is highly rated so what do people here think?

In a heartbeat.

Will be a gun.

No way Pies would give up Cloke for Judd.

Collingwood are building their next decade around Cloke.

so judd is 24..which means he could be playing good footy for another 6 seasons. Are we even in the premiership window within 6 years? I know our pick 4 would most likely still be around...not judd though.

We haven't rebuilt as a club since the concept of 'rebuilding' became common place. We are similar to the Bulldogs in our drafting consistency and ladder positions.

Geelong didn't have a premiership window until Steven Johnson got his head right and the whole team subsequently clicked. It can happen to us in the next few years. TJ = SJ. Our defence is the question of course, need to have Frawley and Rivers become very good defenders first.

Obviously if we're to get Judd, pick 4 would probably be going to WC. But is he the only player we'd consider trading the pick for, or should we be shopping it around to see if anyone is interested, and what should we be trying to get for it?

good call mate. dont forget that brock was something like pick no. 5 i think and judd was a no. 3 pick, so pick 4 is something in between--the skills of judd and the toughness and leadership of brock.....i hope

btw, does anyone remember, was johnstone a no. 1 pick?

Yep, TJ was number 1 in '97.

And despite opinion was definately the right choice. Was a teenage prodigy and we all know is a superstar. The thing that excites me about the Judd thing is that Johno will finally not get number 1 tagger. His issue was never talent, it was shaking a tag, but without the best on him everyweek. See him emerge and be compared like a Kerr (a is he as good as the best comparison)

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
