I believe Danny was part of the infamous Lachlan Veale trade... anyhoo... not surprisingly he doesn't fit into Clarko's new accountability regime down there in Hawk land.

I agree JJC that Fergs is brave... but, unfortunately he just isn't big enough and his decision making is questionable. There are some clubs making some desperate gurgling noises re trading for KPP (Bulldogs) so he maybe offered a lifeline somewhere.

The WB are crying out to have effective big men and McDougall just has not stepped up.

Well it always takes a while for a big man to develop and it was hard to slide into an already powerful eagles side. Therefore a developing big man really had no place in that team. However he wasn't horrible, I happened to really watch out for him back at West Coast cause I liked using him in AFL on sony (weird reason to like but yeah). He had some strong games and did show something and by that account it didn't seem like a bad idea of the Dogs to get him.

However it doesn't matter how good the player may or may not be. I just do not think a big man can fit into the doggies system, they use speed through run, handball. It doesn't accomodate the big forward like McDougal. They have running goals, Gian, Johnson, Murphy, Higgins, there line up and style accomodate small players.

Like Rawling, McDougall and whoever most likely goes there this year. Will struggle.

U're not exactly putting up a great case to keep him.

I know his brave but we need a mix of talented playas who are brave, hard etc etc.

We've got too many playas either one or the other.

No one can see him more then depth (God i hate that word) so that 'depth' list needs to be cut in half. Which is happening

Bottom line is.... his negatives (massive -ve weak body on body player with no pace) far outweighs his positives.

Sorry to be a smart arse. I could see why you would think that. He has played up forward at Sandy, but he doesn't have the neccessary talent. I just can't see fergie beating a O'brien or Fisher or even a Dawson. Plus I wouldn't feel safe with him kicking for goal with the game on the line.

The doggies mind is run and short kicks. Not kick long to a big leading forward. It is there gameplan that perils alot of these big guys. The gameplan has been the big hoo-rah at the doggies. They wanted small running players, cause it is their plan. That is why they got Aker. They didn't have good big blokes last year yet they spent all there time getting Aker cause he fit the game plan.

I think Pickett, Bizz, Brown, Ward, and Godfrey are a good start. Not many are in our best team, and most will be 30+ in 2008.

It'll be interesting to see what happens with the trio Holland, Warnock, and Ferguson.

Unless traded, I think everyone else is safe.

EDIT: Given the vibe on Demonland I was a little surprised about Neaves, but I haven't seen much of him.

I believe that Ferguson has not been offered a new contract and will not be delisted until after trade week....

so therefore, will be thrown up as trade bait!!
