Goo on you Doggy.Despite his knockers, he had a great last season. Finished with strong form. One of the few who can hold his head high. It won't be the same without him. Well done to the Biz as well. And the new era begins.

Warnock and Neville absolute Montys. Ferg won't survive.

Neville and Ferg will be delisting, not retirements. And we won't get rid of Warnock as he has another year on his contract.

I thought Ferg has been pretty good lately and if Dutchy goes he may need to put on some weight and be the big backman.

I had a little chuckle to myself when Jakovich or some other commentator said that the other day....

I meant delisting - but same, same.... as for Warnock.... D'ohhhh. If he wasn't worth a game this year (yes I know he played one match) he won't be next year.

our congratulations and thanks to both Bizz and Doggy also. Both gave it their all always and both terrific clubman.

My personal thanks to Doggy also who I hade the pleasure as Chairman of the former Melbourne 3000 Club to claim as our initial sponsored player. One of natures gentlemen as well!

Doggy's dedication was no more evident thatn when he would turn up at the Auskick super clinic with icepack and bandage on at least one leg and still give his time to the kids. We knoe how much he is enjoyig being a Dad!

Best wishes to both guys in their future endeavours.

Good on them both for making the right decision at the right time.

Both leave us with plenty of memories.

To name just one, I will never forget Biz's four efforts against Adelaide in the 2nd quarter of the 2002 Semi Final. Spoil on Stevens, kick off the ground, chase and dive into Massie then tackle on Edwards. Ball spills to Armstrong, handballs to Yze, three bounces, goal from the boundary line. Was sitting near the cheer squad and the standing ovation for his efforts from the members/olympic stand still gives me chills when I watch it back on tape.

Good luck to Clint and Nathan for whatever they do in the future.

I'd like to repeat a post I put on "Demonology".

Doggy and the Bizz are two of the most courageous players that I've seen donning the Demon guernsey. I just wish I could tell them to their face how much I admired the way they took the heavy knocks for the Club we love(but they'd just think I was piffing in their pockets.....but I REALLY mean it.) The last guy I felt so indebted to for his sheer guts was Steven Icke. How I admired the way he'd back into packs with his head up, eyes on the ball!(what a contrast to Medallist Moore).

I'll miss seeing these two great warriors representing our Club, and I think they'll be hard shoes to fill.

Good luck to you fantastic guys ,in Hollywood and in the Fire Brigade!

To Doggy and the Bizz, thanks for the great memories & all the enjoyment of watching you guys play over the years. Well done to both of you, good luck for your futures.. :D

Well done to Biz and Browny on great careers.

Whilst this is definitely the best choice in terms of the club moving forward, I'm actually a bit sad. :(

Hope Biz can now finally pursue his acting career!

Good games boys.

Bizz would probably sneak into my 22 if we were in it to win, but he's the wrong side of 30.

Brown has played some good football this year, but he's also the wrong side of 30 and I guess this gives him an opportunity to have some games with Walsh in the SANFL.

Ferguson put on weight? We have been saying that for the last however many years.

He hasn't done it and at the age of 26 most likely never will. He is fringe player at best.

Sad to see one of my favourite players the Bizz retire...Still had a season left in him but with our current situation was always going to fet the boot...

Nathan Brown, im by no way your number one fan but you trie shrd every week and knew your limitations.....

Hopefully Biiz will now move to Hollywood and kick start his acting career in "return of the Biz"

90% certain that is not correct.

Just wanted to say a belated congratulations, and from the bottom of my heart, a thankyou to these two stoic demons...

Some players only get 100-200 cracks at AFL footy and fall short of being named "champions" yet because of their deeds they forge memorable reputations nonetheless...

The Biz gave some of the best service we've had in defence this century, particularly early in his career. It's not easy to rank highly in a B&F playing in defence, and Biz did it week in week out, year in year out. His last three years were a disappointment, moreso for him... but his strong service in some pretty dark times should give him a great name in MFC culture. The way he played the game, fearless in the air and at the contest... what more can a player ask for than to be remembered this way? I'm proud to claim him as a demon, moreso than a cat... and I'm glad he clocked up more games with us than with them...

Doggy has been the heart and soul of the team for years now. He didn't have much, but he got SO much further than so many, who had so much more talent... and in years when his club was playing finals, he came a hair's breadth from winning a B&F of his own. In my mind he has just about done enough to be put above the players we call "good honest battlers" as he was quite damaging and effective in his heyday.

In my mind, it was YEARS ago that these guys earned more respect than they got from fans on here and in other places. It always upsets me to see a former strong player make an all-too-human decline with age, and see his own fans turn on him despite year after year of heroics... And for the record I LOVE that these guys both played some really strong senior footy in their swansong years, just to remind all the nay-sayers that while they were long in the tooth, they still had it in them...

Biz, Brownie... Thankyou both... for everything.

It's just a shame because he (Nathan Brown), is playing some of the best footy right now.

Bizz - A champion. Didn't really get enough game time @ Melbourne but that's just the way things go.

I will miss them both next year.

Thanks to Brown and Bizzell for their service to the club, I wish them all the best in their future endeavours. I don't believe either of them could have gotten any more out of themselves - well done, lads. Their retirement adds a bit of substance to an otherwise unsavoury occasion on Sunday.

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
