Brogan's kicking is keeping Fergeson's career alive.

Wheatley is just about the only player, who is playing for his career, that has actually shown something this year. Bizzell has been serviceable and will probably be kept for depth but hasn't been able to push into the best 22 like Wheatley has.

Robbo with his second from a nice pass from buckley, mclean should of had a free earlier from his tackle, the gut took him on and after ages finally kicked it, robbo off, looked proppy after earlier tackle.

Cornes kicks his 4th.

Much better quarter so far. Hopefully we can actually have a solid attempt at snatching the lead, not just hanging in there and playing out time like against Brisbane.

What annoys me is if we played like this from the start we'd be right in the game. I know that Port has dropped off but that's largely because we have started to actually apply a bit of pressure. Nathan Brown seems to be doing a bit.

Another open goal...great.

We work so hard for a goal and then they just torp it long and run into an open goal.

Jones passes to Newton who will kick from 45.

4 inside 50s for Jones.

If he doesn't get a rising star nomination then...[censored]

NEWTON SCOREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEES (I didn't actually think he could kick it that far)

A positive: Godfrey has kept S.Burgoyne to six touches and hit Robbo lace-out off his right foot.

A negative: the Old Skipper has had his hands on the pill only once.

Another positive: contrary to the scoreline the Dees won the I-50s 30/26.

Another negative: the Skipper-in-Waiting has had one kick.

Jones, White, Wheatley, Newton (for what time he has been on), sylvia (mainly first half) have been good,

green in patches

mclean got better second half

junior not overly effective

brown and bate have got a few touches but not very effective, brown needs to keep his feet. the other thing is burgoyne has been more effective than him.

neitz has competed ok but done nothing

bruce looks like he has missed a few games,

Holland not too bad

Bell has done ok but some disposals average

fergs, miller no good

frawley, ward unsited

moloney has not had a influence.

They dropped Carroll and PJ, and as I suspected, we've loaded our forward line because we have too many immobile talls. Pathetic pre-match selection.

Miller and Holland as back-up ruckmen when we have two perfectly fit ruckmen at Sandy. Logic?

Carroll in the VFL when our backline is getting murdered. Logic?

Dunn and CJ in the VFL when we can't hit a target. Logic?

The scoreline flatters us. We deserve to be 10 goals behind the way we're playing.

Jones, Newton and the return of Belly the only highlights. Godfrey doing a good job too.

P.S.- NEITA IS NOT FIT. DON'T PLAY HIM!!!!

Yep totally agree with everything there.

If riley wasnt trying to tank with that selection then only god knows what was going through his head

Certainly leaves us with a few questions over the selections made for today, the only conclusion i can come to is that we made selections based on bolstering Zebra's and the increasing the opportunity of have having a four peat!

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
