NON-MFC: Round 7

Ugh… completely forgot we play Hawks down in that dumpster fire of a stadium. Always hated playing down in Tasmania. At least by the time the Devils come around, the stadium will have a roof.

Enjoy the game Trac

and if your looking for the Demons on the ladder, look up

I have mentioned this previously and today appears to be a good example of it. Gold Coast are just not the sum of their parts. If you look at their list, it's chock full of talent but no synergy at all......good.

Gee just turned on the game. I thought hawthorn would struggle with no Sicily or Moore.

Sicily isn’t being missed. King hasn’t had a possession. Hagen is trying but limited impact, delivery into their forward line in always long bombs under pressure. The Suns look very limited, their midfield struggling to run with the Hawks, let alone dominate possession for more than a few minutes at the end of that quarter. I am watching live in Hawks colours, well a hawks cap anyway, under duress, but don’t tell anyone.

Still a few rounds to go, but with Gold Coast losing today, it’s hard to see the top 4 changing from here.

3 weeks ago the Dogs and Suns were top 4 locks. things can change quickly.

I can see the Lions replacing the Hawks at least. Hawks don’t have the depth for a long season as they showed last year

Watching on Kayo, the commentary is on but zero crowd noise. It’s like Lyon and co are commentating from a toilet cubicle.

It’s giving me anxiety.

It was a joke, one that clearly missed the mark. I don’t actually believe we’ve secured the double chance just yet.

Both fox & ch7 have had mares with their coverage today.

As the commentators said today, it was system vs raw talent. Suns have plenty of the latter, Hawks are all the former.

It seemed as if the whole purpose of the Anzac Eve clash at the MCG between the Demons and the Tigers was building toward that single, unforgettable moment when Kozzie Pickett soared above Campbell Gray and all but fittingly etched his name onto the face of the 2026 Frank ‘Checker’ Hughes Medal.
