GAMEDAY: Rd 06 vs Brisbane

Featured Replies

Would love to see both Jvr and Jeffo kick five a piece.

Seems nervous on the big stage though.

should have nailed it but strong mark at least.

Jeffo badly needs help for those yips

all in his head

Yikes jeffo, you’d think with all the time he’s had away he’d have practiced the goalkicking. Meanwhile JVR converts.

anyway, Rayner should not have had that room.

How is that not out on the full.

Was thinking the same thing looked a mile out

That was an outstanding goal by Brisbane. Handballs forward and then the receivers janked backwards a couple of steps to gain space to line up their next handball and move bit by bit into the corridor. Little gain, little gain, even while probing for the breakthrough option.

Meanwhile, we're in front because we're willing to slash right across the ground, starting from the halfback hip and coming out at the half forward shoulder. Defenders don't quite know exactly where to be.

Brisbane are mostly relying on Demon blunders to score... I suspect that'll decide the game either way.

great lead and mark by Jeffo.... kick well.

Good to see that sort of attack from hime.

pressure has good besides some stupid errors.

I feel like we are not at our best at all but things are even.

Hopefully we can improve our skills and lift our accuracy at goal and connecting to one another.

thank you ump for giving a free for that blatant drop the ball

so often umpires let that go

Sharp did not get Berry high. Ump guessed. Again.

Got to do something about Brisbane's uncontested marks.

But good quarter, we've started well & our tackling pressure has been great

That was fun to watch. Game will turn on who takes the chances I reckon. There were some times I thought we would get away and they got a lucky bounce or whatever so let’s see if that luck continues. I think we’re well placed and everyone seems involved.

More than acceptable quarter. Our pressure has been great and general skills good. Some single moments (Langford dropping the easy handball receive, Jeffo missing everything) cost us but we are playing well.

We have to move Harris Andrews around.

The effort and intent is very good

Lions have the class to punish our mistakes and i think that will be the difference

Good footy. Kingy has gotten the guys up for the contest which is a great sign. Put in another quarter like that and you never know what can happen on the 2nd half.

JVR well done, Jeffo is attacking the ball well in the air, just gotta keep at it. Stating the absolute obvious but we really need these two to come on.

Qtr time DEES 25 Lions 25

Langford 🤢Petty 🤢 Jeffo 🤢

Kozzy. Sharp. Fritsch. Steele playing well.

NEED MORE PRESSURE PLEASE !!

  • PREVIEW: Richmond

Who would have imagined, when the season kicked off early last month, that Melbourne would emerge from the opening six weeks with wins over both Queensland powerhouses? At the time, Gold Coast and Brisbane were the competition’s early pace-setters, the flavours of the month, and the prospect of the Demons toppling both within the course of a fortnight seemed remote. Yet here they are, banking those scalps alongside home victories over two traditional Victorian rivals and building a quietly impressive resume.
