Game should be all over 23 scoring shots to 11 Brisvegas should be 10 goals up. MAYNARD is STILL my most hated human ON THE PLANET. Little fat furg Shultz not far behind, has wonder boy Houston touched it yet??

You picked the two Pies I dislike the most too.

i don't mind Scott Pendlebury and Jamie Elliot

I imagine Maynard is the no 1 most dislikable for every dees fan

Jeremy Howe, given his history with us, is my second most disliked

i don't like anyone else on their list including holier than thou Darcy "knee in the kidneys" Moore

hate the pies

So, there’s daylight between the club champions listed and Naicos yet his absence probably didn’t change the result… huh?

And that’s because it isn’t “sliding doors” and you do have no idea how a sliding doors moment

But if Naicos leaves those others for dead, there’s simply no way without him they would’ve lost at all, right?

Yes. If it’s ‘sliding doors’ that would have to be the conclusion. Otherwise it’s not very sliding doors-ish like you say. He’s butchering his own segment, haha.

Apart from that, he’s arguably correct that Daicos is the biggest loss out of all those players. They look a very different team without him and Pendles IMO.

Any weekend that starts with a Pies loss is a good one.

naicos makes the filth a 5 goal a game better side

they'd still have lost last night by a solid 7 or so goals

the bears are looking very, very good early in the season - something that they've not actually done in their last two premiership campaigns

still reckon flagmantle is their most likely challenger

Agree but those Bears are definitely back on track.

Still wouldn't it be good for the game to have a Bears v Suns GF !!

PS: Just installing everything on a new phone and it told me Demonland had an App which I've now installed. Had not realised that before. Thanks Andy and team for your wonderful work. Must be time for another donation drive !

If Freo can beat the Crows in Adelaide tonight they are definitely in the mix

The Good Friday pre game banner guard of honour is a truly beautiful moment.

The smiles on the faces of players from both sides were heartwarming

This match is more entertaining than expected.

Carlton in with a chance - they are not 6 goals ahead already.

No congestion so it's watchable. But the basic skills are woeful. Fumbletown

Neither team knows how to enter their respective forward-lines without bombing it in. Long bombs lead to turnovers - such a waste

Teams like Brisbane would obliterate either team

A large number of us pay a membership fee DJ.

doesn't look like there's a huge amount of pressure thus far in this game

that north midfield should be elite - ldu, sheezel, wardlaw, mckercher, powell, o'sullivan are all top five picks, i think?

far better quality than the baggers' cripps, walsh, smith or bust

oh, and dylan stephens from sydney too

if you can't win the midfield battle with that many top picks who are all mids then it's got to be an issue of coaching and / or development

poor set shots, terrible turnovers and not much pressure

low quality affair so far

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

Not long ago, the narrative surrounding Melbourne was steeped in pessimism. There was some concern among the pundits (and even some fans) that the club would arrive at the AFL’s Gather Round still winless, vulnerable to a familiar adversary in the Essendon Football Club, and facing significant scrutiny from an ever-critical media on a national stage. Things have changed.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

Steven King astutely identified the issues that had plagued the Melbourne Football Club over the past two and a half seasons when he auditioned for the newly created coaching role. The side that had claimed the 2021 premiership had become stodgy, slow-paced, and hesitant to take the initiative.

  • PODCAST: Gold Coast

I’ll be away for the next few weeks, so Binman will be holding the fort for our podcasts covering the Suns, Bombers and Lions matches. As a result, there will be no live podcasts during this period, and we won’t be taking calls or voicemails. Binman will still be dipping into this thread to select a few questions to answer, while also combining the long-form Stats Files podcast with the Demonland Podcast for these shows. Your questions and comments are a huge part of what makes the podcast work, so please post anything you’d like to ask or say below and we’ll do our best to give you a shout-out on the show. Please try to keep each post focused on one specific topic or player to make podcast preparation a little easier. If you have multiple topics you’d like to raise, please put them in separate posts.
