Where are you playing him?

The best he has looked at any level has been as a physical defensive midfielder

He should be modelling his game on Steele

Apologies as this is the wrong thread, but could someone please let me know which end the Melbourne cheer squad typically is for the Freo game in round two, I’m trying to buy tickets. Thanks in advance.

MELBOURNE v RICHMOND

Friday February 27, 4.10pm at Mars Stadium

How to watch on Fox Footy: Channel 504 from 4pm with Dwayne Russell, Jess Webster, Brad Johnson, Nick Dal Santo & Ben Dixon

Demons’ burning question: How real is this more exciting brand under King?

It was like you were watching a totally different side last week. Melbourne looked re-energised in a dominant 80-point win over North Melbourne in their match simulation match. Forget the scoreboard, the Demons passed the eye test with flying colours and you could see the brand new Steven King is trying to install. They defended well and looked organised behind the ball, then attacked with a more daring, chaotic brand. Sounds simple enough, but it’s effectively how Melbourne and 17 other clubs will be wanting to play. We’ll get another look at it against Richmond in a method that Kysaiah Pickett and cousin Latrelle thrived in to provide serious optimistic for Demons fans and renewed faith for what 2026 could hold.

Tigers’ burning question: Will the new ‘Ferraris’ be Round 1 ready?

Fox Footy’s David King — an avid training track-watcher at this time of the year — cheekily suggested on X in January there were “Ferraris” everywhere at Richmond. If that’s the case, No.1 pick Sam Lalor would be in pole position, evidenced by his tantalising showing against Essendon. He took an awesome mark early and, overall, was clean and comfortable in possession, attending many centre ball-ups. Then there’s 2025 top-1o draft picks Sam Grlj and Sam Cumming, who are eyeing early-season debuts. Grlj was arguably the most impressive Richmond youngster against the Bombers with his daring dash and adept decision-making exiting defence, while Cumming improved as the game progressed and benefitted from more centre ball-up attendances. It’s one thing to show glimpses in the pre-season, but how quickly can they convert their form into home and away season class? Because you sense they’ll be heavily relied upon early.

Imagine being an organisation as big as the AFL and you can’t even host a preseason game at a regional venue where all supporters can show up. Sold Out!! FFS the level of incompetence is staggering.

It's about the kayo subscription?

Sign up to the digital membership!

The basic GA membership get a very poor game day experience (in my opinion). Up in the bleachers, no seats on the wing, stuck with the majority of opposition supporters when they close off areas, or it's a game against those big supporters team.

Not many extras for GA membership.

User pays system, in this so called, not for profit organisation.

Death of the grass root supporters.

Fair call but how many bigger regional stadiums are there? Maybe we should just be glad people are turning up

Are we genuine about it being a “community” series at regional stadiums when Carlton just played Geelong at IKON Park?

Either do all the games in regional areas, or if there aren’t appropriate grounds, don’t bother.

They are there:

Wangaratta Oval: Capacity 11,000 and I''m sure there are probably three or four more.

Perhaps it is Kayo wanting night games?

Was referring to last night's game at Princes Park PF.

We're not on Kayo's radar I'm afraid

I don't think the AAMI Community Series was ever billed to be a 'regional' series.

It's a practice match and it sold out a 10,000 capacity stadium that hosts home and away season games. That's great news.

It used to be, hence the word “Community” which alluded to a township all getting together for a (token) AFL match, albeit a practice match.

I mean yes that's true but the AFL has done practice matches this way for years with some local and some scattered.

I think it's great news that this game has sold out.

If we're annoyed that the people of Ballarat and surrounding areas are missing out then what is the solution? Play it at GMHBA? I'm sure people here would love that.

Aren't these games sold out because the capacity of the ground is greatly reduced due to redevelopment? I am going tomorrow but I assumed it will be about 5000 crammed in like sardines...

Only 3000 tickets available so assume that’s the crowd . Same for all 3 matches being played there,

In fairness, 15,000 people are expected to attend the Ballarat venue this weekend.

The trouble is that the number will be spread over 3 games.

Can anyone tell me if the game is on TV today. Sorry to ask but my brain is suffering melodies from my body this morning I am just short of no patience to look through web sites. It's probably just me but I struggle with the Kayo website when searching for an event. Thank you Dlanders!

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

It’s late February. Two teams widely predicted to finish near the foot of the AFL table in 2026 face off against each other in sweltering 30-degree heat deep in outer suburbia in a match simulation with fresh new faces and uneven team numbers. There are no nearby sheep stations on offer; the result promises nothing more than bragging rights for the winner. Nevertheless, the loser appears hopelessly adrift, whereas the other seems to have found its footing after a couple of years of struggle – perhaps a hint at bigger things to come?
