Yeah I agree. I barely recognised the style of play - I think that is why it looked so even across the board

It was quicker & harder to follow than I remember. Less predictable if that makes sense.

Which is one problem addressed

Windsor is the standout in that clip.

Will be interesting to see how his career pans out from here. He looked like a genuine A-grader in 2024, then last year Goody had the genius idea of playing him as a defender. Made him lose all confidence and it took Dan [censored] Butler to kick a bag on him for Goody to give up on it. Played a quarter against West Coast in the guts later in the year and looked a million bucks (granted it was junk time against witches hats), then did his hammy and wasn't seen again.

Will he be a flash in the pan and become a glorified Jayden Hunt, or can he become that A-grader? I'm confident it can be the latter.

Just to strengthen your argument about Windsor looking good in the guts last year, he also played the week after the West Coast game against the Dogs (against a non witches hat team) and showed good signs. It was the Dogs game that he did his hammy.

Behind Kozzie, Windsor and Langford would be second and third on the list of what I'm most excited about in 2026. Touch wood both players are setting themselves up for a big season.

One key feature that separates Windsor and Hunty is agility. Windsor has acceleration and ability to cut through traffic. Hunt was just straight line speed.

Windsors disposal looks to improved a lot too. We need his type in the midfield rotation.

Apologies if this has been covered already - I haven't been following all the training threads.

I noticed Matthews in the match sim highlights. Is he back into full training now, or still rehabbing and just got a few minutes?

Rivers kicked 3 that I saw. All from set shots.

Heath battled hard against Gawn and took a couple of nice marks.

Howes was good. Got a lot of it and was strong in the air.

I thought Rivers, Windsor and Langford were the standouts.

Culley did his arm in the last few minutes.

The forwards play a very high press. There was often no-one in one half of the ground. Lots of switching and short passes to retain control combined with long down the line when needed. Lots of quick play and ball movement that occasionally came unstuck. We'll be trying to get out the back towards goal quite a lot.

Mihocek, van Rooyen and Jefferson all had their moments without starring.

Fritsch is a different player from last year, but you already knew that.

Sparrow was good.

Plenty took turns in the centre square.

Standing in the back pocket on the boundary line with Salem and Jiath while watching proceedings, Jarrad Rivers yelled out to Rick (Lever) about his positioning. Once play had moved up field Xavier Taylor turned around and yelled out to Rivers, "were you calling me "? Rivers shook his head. Taylor then nodded before saying, "call me Reg, or you can call me Daddy". Needless to say there were howls of laughter with Rivers telling Salem you're going to have to get that boy under control. He then told Petty the story of how Taylor told him to call him Daddy, before lamenting he gets enough grief at home.

Just a solid hitout with some good bits of play interspersed with some errors. I think Mihocek will be very important and a handy pick up, notwithstanding his age.

I left thinking we'll get a lot more of an even performance than the last couple of years and that I have no real clue how we'll go. I actually doubt we'll be worse and have a sneaky suspicion we could surprise a little to the upside. Pity I didn't see Latrelle.

I should add that Windsor's kicking was very good. We all know it's not always. I suspect his kicking is linked to his body health.

Thanks trackwatchers, quick question: how does it look like they’re playing/ using Lindsay? Haven’t heard much about him this summer, cheers

He was half back today.

I concur. Really hard to guage at this point but we looked way slicker and I can see us suprising a few

Matthew Jefferson has stepped up. Jeffo! Clap! clap! clap!

WHO did you say??

With a bit of pace on the ball and space in the forward half, Fritta might kick 60 this year.

Thanks @Gator Did Salo play and did you get inside the ground?

If you haven’t seen Trelly yet think Bobby Hill more than Kossie. Always moving and great follow up around the ground.

Also any observation on Kolt?

For mine, Windsor looks to have really really found something. His break away from the stoppage is just something to marvel at and with Kozzy and CJ to work with, we are going to have some electric ball movement from back-half.
We are clearly going to be out-muscled on the inside game. With no JV and a young Langford, we will not be able to match it with some of the clubs that have some serious power.

This gives some hope that we will be able to bounce back in time and are building a very capable list.

Not so sure, Kozzy will be a handful and we still have Steel, Sparrow and Riv for some muscle.

The mix is going to be interesting.

Reporters holiday period runs from Oct 5 to Nov 16. You’re out of excuses and on notice.

PF is on a working holiday, currently piloting boats in Sydney harbour ready to grab and bag Clarrie and bring the poor kid home.

The reporter that was at training stopped posting after the first quarter.

Quite possibly bludgeoned unconscious by superstitious onlookers.
