Corey Ah-Mu - NGA Selection

Featured Replies

Corey Ah-Mu is eligible for the 2027 National Draft.

This is from his ineligible brother's thread:-

Absolutely, although at this stage he’s a bit of a unicorn. He’ll be in Year 11 next year and he’s already measuring in at 200cm, he’s grown around 4 - 5 cms this season and he’s been playing as a winger and mid.

He’s a raw talent, but exceptionally athletically gifted, though he’ll need to work on his craft over the next couple of seasons.

That being said, I’ve heard him first-handedly described as “elite for his age” and that “he’ll play AFL” (verbatim) by a couple of people who work in the Haileybury footy department.

crikey, that's a big lump of a lad

crazy to think that his draft eligible year is only really a season away...

2027 is 2 years away, but sounds an interesting kid to follow until then.

Might have another F/S or two as well that year.

When Yoda says there is another... could he actually be ...

Would be perfect year to hit NGA or/and F/S gold.

Might need to wait and see if the AFL let Tassie take him.

Why would he be eligible for our nga but his brother not?

That would be absolutely standard with this sort of thing.

This could work out very well for us if we have an excellent academy kid in a heavily compromised draft.

Just watched the last quarter online of this afternoon stingrays game.

Corey has serious size, kicked a goal from full forward then went on ball and had pretty much the next three clearances and laced out an inside 50. Uses it well. Looked gassed at the end of the game. Will need to see more to look at what his athleticism is like but he looks a serious prospect for a bottom ager.

Corey kicked 3 goals today as a bottom ager. Marcus Prasad 2 goals.

Corey listed in best players.

It will be a disgrace if the AFL decide Tassie gets a free kick with this one.

According to Rookie me DOB 22nd May 2009. So 17 in May this year. 2027 draft by the looks of it. If he goes early it will be hard to get the points.

Do we 100% have the rights to him?

it's 50-50

we either will...or we won't...

my mfcss tingles are telling me that of course he's going to be a superstar and as such we are of course not going to be eligible to select him

Surely the AFL can’t [censored] us over again with NGA.

Wouldn’t worry about points required. We have full set of future picks and a lot clubs will be keen to trade out of that draft. Akso we are very good at draft trading.

  • CASEY: Richmond

The winds finally returned to Casey Fields for the Demons’ third home game of the VFL season, and its impact was immediate. After two opening rounds played in uncharacteristically fine conditions, the Anzac Day clash brought back the familiar gusty conditions that have been a feature of the region at this time of the year.
Forced to kick into the breeze first, the slow-starting Demons faced a tricky opening against an enthusiastic young Tigers outfit. Casey responded by turning the contest into a scramble, pressuring Richmond into errors and missed targets. The tactic proved crucial, keeping the game tight for three and a half quarters before the Demons pulled away with the autumn wind at their backs.

It seemed as if the whole purpose of the Anzac Eve clash at the MCG between the Demons and the Tigers was building toward that single, unforgettable moment when Kozzie Pickett soared above Campbell Gray and all but fittingly etched his name onto the face of the 2026 Frank ‘Checker’ Hughes Medal.
