Why are we so into Nairn when no one else seems to be?

(sorry if this has already been discussed)

Consensus across all phantom drafts (AFL.com, the Age, Herald Sun and ESPN) is Farrow and Nairn

Think we can lock those two in unless there’s is a shock with Richmond or Essendon that causes a domino effect

It's probably for a reason but at the same time, once Cal's drops, its brave to go against it - so could be a bit of group think?

I also think Marc McGowan seems one of the more intelligent AFL journalists out there - once he said we were into Nairn, everyone else has gone along with it. In the case of someone like Cal, he prob looked into it and realised Marc was spot on with his intel.

There definitely seems to be a herding effect once Cal drops his phantom

It also seems to be the most “common sense” ranking of the top 10 or so picks, so you’d be brave to deviate too much unless you had really strong intel that a club has a surprise up their sleeve

Praying a X Taylor or Cumming falls to us. Won’t happen but would be massive.

Can only hope Richmond and Essendon decide on Farrow and Sharp, which they have been linked.

Taylor, Nairn and NHH would be an awesome return in this years draft.

Random Tasks totally believable top 9 phantom draft (sans academy players)

  1. West Coast: Duursma

  2. West Coast: CDT

Boring, everyone know what's happening here. Or do they?? *Suspenseful music intensifies...

  1. Richmond: Cumming

  2. Richmond: Sharp

Richmond round out there midfield to complement their draft haul from last year that was more diverse. Taking two SA boys should mitigate the go home factor to a degree. For the purpose of this statement, I have redrawn the Victorian/SA border.

  1. Essendon: Nairn

  2. Essendon: Farrow

After a moment of self realisation, the bombers finally worked out that they are terrible at drafting and have no idea what they're doing. This has resorted to the bombers recruiting team to spy on Jason Taylor and copy his work.

  1. Melbourne: Robey

  2. Melbourne: X. Taylor

What? This is totally believable.

  1. Essendon: Adam Sweid

After acquiring the next pick from the blues, the bombers team quickly realise they didn't look past Melbourne's 2 picks to see who we had ranked next. In a state of panic, they select their own academy member without a bid because that was the only name they could remember.

He’s dead to me.

9:50pm - Melbourne V Port 2024, the night Horne-Francis killed us.

10:30pm - Melbourne V Brisbane 2024, the night Cam Rayner killed us.

11:20pm - Bulldogs V Melbourne 2022, the night Ugle-Hagan killed us.

11:40pm- Carlton V Melbourne 2024, the night Jacob Weitering killed us.

Cal’s phantom draft

Top 30

10 of the top 30 are father son or Casey preselected players !! That’s crazy times

Who’s missing from Cal’s top 30

Ollie Greeves - was talked about as potential number 1 pick - now … where? He’s the big bodied mid. He’s smart, and kicks it 50+ but his pace over 10 metres must have clubs worried !?!?

Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves … wow - on his day, he’s as good as any player in the draft. Surely he’s top 20!!

Others ? Jevan Phillipou. Fred Rodriguez. Matthew LeRay. Plenty of talent in the pool after Cal’s top 30.
