A leftfield option

The first clearance in that vid 😬

Read somewhere that when asked who he thinks should go #1 in the draft he answered ‘me’. I think his brother said something similar in his draft year

Sharrod Wellingham in the Western Australian suggests that WC who have picks 1, 2 and 13 trade out their number 1 or 2 pick for 2 other first round picks so that they end up with 4 picks in the top 20. Holding 7 and 8 pick would be tempting for us to make this deal if we choose to play the numbers game to acquire a player we really want.

Wellingham: Why Eagles should consider top pick split

Former Eagle Sharrod Wellingham has praised West Coast for their ‘calculated’ trade period, but says they should be open to fielding offers to split one of their first two picks in this year’s draft.

Haha going from a Petracca and an Oliver to a Phillipou may prove counter productive for our 'cultural cleanse'

A bit off script but still to do with new players, has anybody heard how Berry is coming along. Did he play anywhere towards the end of last year?

Judging from Kings interview, we will go with speed ball use. Not sure which players have those qualities. Maybe Taylor would be one candidate,.

Get around the Dovaston x Oskar Taylor express

Was watching some footage of your boy Taylor this morning - looks a jet

Do you prefer him over Lindsay?

Yes given the explosiveness he has but I'm no expert on them

I was disparaging of Robey after watching only one video, where he was super ordinary (round 19 Talent League). I've since watched and learnt more, so I now get the hype. He's a great size and has some impressive dynamic movement around contests. I've also learnt that he's very bottom age (October) and grew 20cm in a pretty short period. So, he's a great size, moves well around the contest and is a good mark. There's things I don't like, such as his kicking and he falls to ground way too often, but I do get the potential upside and power to his game.

Pretty sure he's been in the US with the whole basketball thing. Spent the last 7 years there so hasnt played any footy since his junior days.

Played the finals with a crack in his collar bone.

My player comparison for him (which only NFL fans will get) is Josh Allen. He’s huge, he’s raw, he’s powerful and will ultimately be a big test of a teams development coaching.

Berry is expected to return to Australia in September to start preparing for pre-season training with Melbourne in November.”

Melbourne fc listed in the Insta bio so expect to see him day 1 of preseason but I don’t think cat B are allowed to play prior to signing on. Hopefully he can find his feet right away at Casey.

Tell Oh My GIF by Robert E Blackmon

With Robey and CDT most likely off the board, i'm warming to selecting Sharp with a first selection. He's basically the best contested mid in the draft and something I think we need due to the loss of Oliver and Trac and Viney in his 30's. We need a side kick to Langford in the guts, and not to mention he's quite a handy defender with work rate and footy IQ also his big strengths. With Pick 8 I'm happy with Lindsay (who could be a Salem replacement in future) or Dovaston as a much needed small forward but may be too higher price for a good but not great player. Grlj is another great option with our second pick and we could possibly take Latrelle Pickett if he lasts to our pick 37.

Wish list Noah HH ,Robey and Hyphenated Picket or possibly Dovaston. Our current picks may be able to pick up two of those players. Perhaps we need to to make a deal with Essendon we get there pick 6 and 21 and a Future 2nd rounder for our pick 8 and 37 and our 1st rounder ana GWS 1st rounder. OR we deal with North we take there pick 24 and 25 for future 1st round picks ,we then swap pick 24 and 25 with Essendon pick 21.

I only have what I watch on you tube to go by, having said that I just watched a 5 minute clip and half a 6 minute clip of Dovastan to see what the hype was about, little bit underwhelming to be honest. Whilst he keeps himself busy buzzing around there’s not a lot of footage of him marking the ball, his disposal by foot is hardly elite, on one or two occasions he plays for the free, he kicks one nice goal and shanks another hitting the behind post. I’ll have another look tomorrow at all his clips because I must be missing something.,

Wouldn’t have a clue or pretend to. Positive Jason Taylor will weave his magic come the draft.

Tim Lamb’s ‘bacon’ was saved by matinee idol Jack Steele stealing the limelight on dead💀line day. He’s no longer widely lambasted here. So there’s a stay on the lamb being basted at the demonland satay barbecue. Peanut sauce? no problem it’s always found abundance on DL. Sadly Trac can’t be consulted. He’s joined a dodgy AFL franchise just over the Queensland border. Run by a shadowy figure known as "Dimma". He'll be too busy getting up to speed on how to bend bananas.

Clayton Oliver was last sighted on a Sydney Harbour cruise. Unconfirmed stories have emerged he was press ganged into joining a pantomime troop known locally as the 'lost giants'. (No body can find them). To make a long story short. It seems the Australian rules outpost in Greater Sydney’s wild west is in peril. The AFL is putting together a Peter Pan posse of cowboys to save the day. Unfortunately they'll be more likely channeling The Wild Bunch than The Magnificent Seven. According to 'reputable' football journalists, Clarry will have a leading role. Along with other absconders Jesse Hogan and Jake Stringer. They can all roll Jaffas together at the Saturday matinee.

Back on topic…

Young Sam Grilj would align nicely with the club partner sponsor Grill’d so you’d think he’s a football shoe in.

I’m surprised there’s not more love for Hibbins-Hargreaves, yeah he’s got a lot to work on but he has pure class. Good size, looks a good athlete, clean hands and makes really good decisions.

Obviously needs a thorough medical and will need to have his defensive game coached up but profiles as a modern midfielder who excels in transition.

Please tell me his nickname is Hydrogen.

If I paid more attention to chemistry and politics I’d probably get that.

If Berry isn't ready to plug and play at Casey, we need to investigate other options as soon as possible. We sent Kyah Farris-White to SBMT at least 12 months too late.

Thanks

I think pick trading up to and during this year's draft is going to be very interesting.

We know who currently has 2025 picks but the two other things that are very important are who has highly rated Academy and F/S prospects for 2026 and what range do you think teams will finish in 2026. These two factors will heavily influence the possible movement of future 2026 picks. It's really impossible to predict what might be possible without taking all that into consideration.

There's not a lot of current detail on 2026 prospects AFAIK (yeah Cody Walker is a top prospect), and it's personal speculation where teams might finish.
