I remember when he was first drafted thinking that he would be - my words - "our next Barassi". Well, RDB turned away as well.

If a satisfactory deal cannot be negotiated I would welcome Trac back. If he goes, then I will console myself with "good riddance to a malcontent" because that is what he seems to have become post KB 2024, and if that's right then the playing group would be better off without him.

Ben Ainsworth is exploring his options, maybe a chance to be part of the Petracca deal?

Free set of steak knifes with any purchase type stuff.

Hopefully we've said to GC that if you can't give us an A grader, go and get one via a third club or you don't get your prized possession.

Turning Petracca into Ainsworth, Flanders and Humphrey would be a good result, probably need to add some picks but offt.

As I said if they wanna throw us Ainsworth I am not mad about it.

But he adds not much to the deal IMHO.

At this point I want Humphrey. Everyone else is secondary.

Pick 7 and a B grader in Ainsworth might be the best we can hope for.

23 goals in 24 games is a bit 'meh' for someone that resides in the forward line

Reminds me of ANB. Hard runner and provides a link between the midfield and forward line.

i'm normally not inclined to pick up what the drop is putting down, but this does feel to be on 'brand' to use the term that christian petracca reportedly does not like

Or. Adelaide are saving face by saying they didn't want him anyway.

I love how he griped about not playing in front of big crowds and now wants to go to… Gold Coast.

His priorities have changed. That happens.

I’ve heard that this thread was created at the request of Christian, due to him not wanting to share one with Oliver.

BS

Humphrey's went missing, remember.

So did Kozzie’s situation this year.

Just saying 😜🤩😂

🤞 MFC “we’ll have Mac Andrew thanks” 👌

We'll have him for draft picks / points value we should have got him for in the first place, then start talking the terms for Trac as a separate negotiation - quality players, not random draft picks in a weak draft thanks.

Agreed.

And if he comes back, it's because other clubs didn't see enough value in him to meet our trade terms. Should that occur, it should humble him, put him back in his place and knowing that he has to earn any respect back.

Personally as a supporter, I have lost alot of respect for him out of this episode and hope we can get a good enough trade for him to leave the club on acceptable terms to us. Hasn't acted like a team player or club champion at all.

Reality is he’s been talking GC before this, why would you want him back he’s not invested get the right deal done …

Why are people worrying about Tasmania in the 25 and 26 Drafts and using that as a reason not to accept picks in the teens?

I understand that academy selections could push picks down but you do know that Tasmania enters the draft in 27 right?

I love your passion and your defence of all things the MFC, but it is also your downfall.

Even the media reports and his social media activity at the time suggested/hinted it was a real possibility.

But we digress. Trac is leaving, Ollie maybe a real possibility leaving, Goody is gaawn and changes are occurring.

This draft group has been labelled as very weak.

......And I usually change the subject when I'm under pressure.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Essendon

It’s Pink Lady night at Princes Park — a vibey Friday evening setting for a high-stakes clash between second-placed Melbourne and eleventh-placed Essendon. The wind-sheltered IKON Park, a favourite ground of the Demon players, promises flair, fire and a touch of pink. Melbourne has never lost a home-and-away game here, though the ghosts of two straight-sets finals exits in 2023 still linger.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: # 1 Steven May

The premiership defender has shown signs of wear and tear due to age, and his 2025 season was inconsistent, ending poorly with a suspension and a noticeable decline in performance. The Demons are eager to integrate younger players onto their list and have indicated that they may not be able to guarantee him senior games next season, in what would be the final year of his contract.

The young key tall failed to make progress during the season, with a decline in his goal kicking output. His secondary role as a backup ruckman, which may have hindered his ability to further develop his game, and he was also impacted by the team's poor forward connection. It will be interesting to observe his performance under a new coaching regime.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #3 Christian Salem

Salem proved to be a valuable contributor as a reliable and solid one-on-one medium-sized defender in what was undoubtedly his most impressive season since the premiership year. He remains a highly capable rebounding option for the Demons as he approaches his 200th game at the club.
