Will miss Trac considerably more than Clarry and heโ€™d have to easily in my top 5 favourite MFC players.

With that being said, in 2025 we won just 7 games with Trac playing all games, with 4 of them being against the worst 3 sides in the comp.

In 2024 when he was injured, We had some good wins and some very honourable loses against the likes of Brisbane at the Gabba as well as top 4 teams in GwS and Port.

The point being that Trac isnโ€™t the defining factor between us being a good and bad side, and this year showed exactly that. He was not the difference and did not get us over the line in all those close losses like you would expect a champion would.

All the best to him, while we all loved the grand final performance, I wanted to point out that whatever he had going with the club and teammates - for the fans he (IMO) was always great. At gather round this year, after the training session, the players hung around and signed jumpers, posters etc. for the fans who turned up. They had been out there a fair while (much longer than the actual training session), and someone came out and yelled out to the players that the bus was heading back to the hotel. Trac yelled back to go and grab one of the trainers car keys because he wasn't going without getting to all the fans first - he Oliver, Fritta and Salem then stayed another 20 minutes or so, and asked if everyone had a signature.

Yeah his B&F speech said it all saying itโ€™s his job reinforced he had checked out, interest to know what how his teammates rate him as I dare say there is more to this & to hang on the club on his treatment during his injury, canโ€™t be the defining moment

He was waving his arms around on field cracking the [censored] in games in 2024 before his injury. It is clear his disaffection with the club preceded his KB injury. The explosion of "Trac / Trac camp unhappy" leaks post-injury have a strong whiff of exploitation of that event by his inner circle to help him get out of the club. And why? We were on a downward trajectory (from 2021 to 2022 to '23 to '24), and The Brand wanted success.

He was supreme around 2021 and played possibly his career-best game in our Premiership, but sadly I'm glad to see the back of his toxicity these last couple of years.

Trac had already checked outโ€ฆ he wasnโ€™t 100% committed & his B&F speech said it all part of the afl landscape unfortunately, Essendon will have a captain who doesn't want to to be there! Sorry to say the afl is producing selfish players

Tracc come out to say thanks to the club, coaches and supporters yet?

Will be interesting to see if either Trac or Clayton post a farewell message on social media to the Demon Army and supporters in general. Havenโ€™t seen anything as yet.

Would like to think Trac still has some love and appreciation for our club and supporters somewhere deep inside him. Might be a bit harder for Clayton in view of how things unfolded for him over the past couple of weeks. Even so, would be surprising and disappointing if at least the Demon Army donโ€™t get some kind of acknowledgement from them, especially as they will always be such an important part of the 2021 flag.

Premiership hero and legend of the club. Will never forget what Trac and Clarry did for us.

Ok now please don't package all our picks to move up the draft order for another Tholstrup.

But if we package picks for a Kozzi or Lindsay I assume thatโ€™s ok with you?

For the Brand ๐Ÿ˜‚Screenshot_20251015_203541_Meme Generator.jpg

Havenโ€™t been on Insta much before

is that for real, pre order my cook book?

Pretty sure we know how to put sauce on pasta champ

Honestly reckon Trac may have lost his passion and love for footy after his lacerated spleen injury.

Reckon heโ€™ll play out his contract but his focus will be opening restaurants and selling cook books

Not judging just observing

Otherwise he would have pushed to go to a big team in front of big crowds imo

Well a new dawn after a disappointing outcome, feel as bad as losing Barassi, so long ago.

Wish both players well, I can follow Jesse more often now.

I think both will be motivated for 2026, do very well, then fall into bad habits again.

Both getting close to their use by date, the fault of MFC for the long contracts.

We did well in dealing with one, pilloried and crucified the other,

We need JT to do a lot of work and to sign for a few more years.

Bring on 2026 Go Dee's

King's Birthday 2024 was a watershed moment for the club. I said it then, and I'll say it now, Trac was neglected that day by people running the club who had lost their way. I'm pleased many of them are our the door, and I'm happy for Trac that he's been given an opportunity elsewhere. He hasn't boycotted the club, or made public statements. He's conducted himself well in 2025, he's chosen a club with the tools to get the trade done, and it won't hurt at all to see him in the GC jumper compared to one of the Vic clubs.

Farewell and thanks for the memories.

reminds me of Geelong last month sending their best player back on with a clearly broken arm and concussion

could have done permanent damage to his arm. Iโ€™m sure the media will get stuck into the cats for 6 months about it ๐Ÿ™„

He's just enjoying a Brand new day ...

It is a sad time and people will need a little time.

Christian Petracca will always be one of my favourites to play for MFC. Getting a no.5 guernsey around 2016 was a happy moment because it paid tribute to another all time fav the Ox at the same time.

Itโ€™s been a pleasure seeing him do his thing for us and weโ€™ll never forget that ride that took us to the ultimate success and him yelling โ€œWe bloody did itโ€. One of my favourite memories about that night.

From 2020 to mid 2024 he was at his absolute peak. It was just 18 months ago I remember being at the G on Thurs night against Carlton and him almost single handedly dragging us to the victory with 5 goals. He was something else that night. What happened on Kingโ€™s Birthday was horrific and thankfully while it didnโ€™t have more serious ramifications, stopped the CP5 juggernaut dead in its tracks.

Will we look back on this trade with disappointment in the long run? I donโ€™t believe so. It is just my gut feeling but I think we have seen the best of Petracca.

I have no doubt he can play some good football for the suns and provide value and leadership but deep down I feel that this injury completely changed him as a footballer and a person. Trac will be 30 in Jan and personally I think he has 3 years in the game left at best. It would be an unbelievable achievement if he has some kind of renaissance up there but I donโ€™t think weโ€™re going to see a Dangerfield like scenario here. Thereโ€™s other fish to fry for Trac and the best you could hope for is a guy who provides good value footy and maybe even a shot at a flag.

We might never know what fully transpired at the club to turn Christian away, Iโ€™d love to hear that side of the story when all is said and done. But also when all is said and done, he will be a Melbourne great and may rediscover the love he once had for the red and blue.

Thank you for absolutely everything Christian, we will always be grateful.

To the Melbourne Football Club, thank you for the past 11 years.

Thank you to the club, the fans, and my teammates for making it so special. I'm incredibly grateful for the friendships, memories, and experiences both on and off the field. I'Il always be proud to have worn the red and blue, to be a premiership player, and a life member. A chapter Iโ€™ll never forget. โค๏ธ

thank you Chat Gpt, sorry i mean Trac

Anyone else struggling to fill in their timesheets for the past week?

Might have to set up Demonland as a client in the system

Thankful for the contribution and that amazing 5 year period he was elite.

He kinda lost me after that comment about crowds, I didn't know why but I took it personally. We have a great core of 25k out at that are there most weeks. Sure but Collingwood level size wise but we are passionate and loud.

Gc will be a while be experience for him. Enjoy no crowd, atmosphere and gc traffic!! Unless he lives near Carrara (which isn't a suburb for people like trac) he'll be in the car more than he was getting to Casey

Now we get to death ride the Suns!

JUH, an annoyed Walter and an unhappy BH will help.

Why are we saying farewell to a guy who wants to leave considering we have a new coach. I would say go and get st.ffed.
