Bailey Humphrey

Featured Replies

Just to add to Demons Foreverโ€™s update. I was told last night that we have an advantage over Hawthorn & Collingwood in that we have a massive trade chip in Petracca. Yes obvious I know.

On top of that, GC sees those two clubs as top competitors for next years flag and sending Humphrey to either club is unpalatable to Dimma.

We have been steadfast in our pursuit of Humphrey and we should have a bit of direction from player and agent by Friday.

He is my height, so i think you have just made a powerful enemy.

172 cm puts him about on parity with Chandler and Spargs. With Chuck leaving we are down a little. So if he started in that role with burst in the the midfield that could be promising, not sure where exactly he's played at GC but he's played 18 games in 2 seasons and has kicked 6 goals (all against West Coast and North Melbourne across 2 seasons). Would we get more goals out of him?

Ha.. my apologies.

Been playing half forward at AFL level. Reckon a new change at the Dees where he would get more midfield opportunities would be a great addition.

Perfect age bracket too.

Iโ€™m definitely enjoying this roller coaster ride of emotions more today than yesterday, fingers crossed I make it to the end without vomiting. ๐Ÿ˜‚

I know that it totally goes against the modern day player holding all the power but why doesnโ€™t GC take the position that weโ€™ll only trade BH to Melbourne who we donโ€™t see as a competitor next year.

Gaining Trac for draft picks, but then receiving draft picks for BH to Hawthorn, and to then facing them in a prelim next year is just a sideways move for Gold Coast.

If BH is home sick or needs to go home on humanitarian factors, then what does it matter the club he plays for? I know it doesnโ€™t work that way in practice but it should.

Well, Rogers is a quicker Spargo. Creative by hand and foot, and elite on either side of his body. Makes sense.

Would it be fair to say that if King is adopting a Geelong style, Rogers could play a similar role to Gryan Miers? From what I've seen (not much), he seems to be very good at pulling the kick late to ensure he finds the target with low bullet passes?

Isn't that how it would work? Ie they say "Look BH, you're contracted and a required player. We appreciate you're homesick and we're open to you moving back to Victoria. If there's a deal that is satisfactory on the table then we will look at it. But this is just to get you home - we're not necessarily going to deal with your club of choice."

Gold Coast supporters on Bigfooty on the weekend:

โ€œNo chance weโ€™re trading BH for Petracca. Melbourne can get stuffedโ€

Thereโ€™s Gold Coast supporters?

Isnโ€™t the issue more about getting BH to select us (or just state โ€˜a move back homeโ€™) instead of Coll/Haw?

Seems to be players typically get to the club they select nowadays, regardless of who is more attractive on the trade front.

Morris reported that there is a โ€œpersonal situationโ€ with Humphrey that is in part driving clubsโ€™ interest in him

Iโ€™m just speculating here but I would think that if those personal reasons are the primary reason Humphrey wants to move home, that heโ€™d be more open to moving to whichever Vic club can make a deal happen, rather than nominating a specific club

They generally do but, without doing any research to see if there is precedent, it would seem odd to openly trade a contracted player to a team that you think is one of your main competitors for a flag.

Especially a player of significance.

GC could effectively tell him that heโ€™s contracted but would consider a trade to a team that can provide the return that GC needs. Otherwise, see you at preseason Bailey!!

I'd be surprised if worrying about boosting a team which would be competitive for the flag is of much significance compared with other issues with list management.

Humphrey and Rogers would be an outstanding coup for the club.

Steele? Yeah, nah.

Yeah see this is where you have gotten this one blatantly wrong..

I would love more then anything to have Humphrey run out in red and blue and would be a massive get and another feather on Kings hat on top of getting rid of Oliver

But I am also realistic that its going to be incredibly hard especially if CC and the Suns have got a hard stance on him not leaving.. and so they should, it would be no different to us if the shoe was on the other foot and Kozzie was meeting clubs in WA. You'd be kicking and squealing demanding the absolute the world

They will ask more then Petracca if Humphrey comes out and nominates us.

Also, I hope yoy havent gone off early on this one...

It's happening, baby.

Melbourne's ability to openly and willingly trade with contending teams needs to be studied. I reckon other clubs pull their hair out when they see some of the trades we do.

Not as much as us here in Demonland.

Our trades honestly are brutal.

I'm really loving all this intel from @Demon Forever about meetings with Bailey Humphrey but it's not lining up with any of the "news" coming from the likes of Morris who are usually all up in "news" about meetings such as this. I would praise our plugging of the leaks if I wasn't also praising a poster on here for leaking "news" about clandestine meetings. Somethings not adding up.

No offence to @Demon Forever - love this stuff. It's keeps the dream alive. Also not pumping up Tom's tyres but credit where credit is due, and regardless of what people think of him, he is often very close to the mark with this stuff.

I'm picturing one guy that kinda looks like Warwick Capper with multiple phones and a heap of burner accounts on Bigfooty.

Exactly this. If Tom Morris had a whiff of the Demons meeting with Bailey Humphrey and the supposed intel that has been posted here it would be splashed all over Trade Radio. Not a Tom fan but he is usually all over this kind of thing and at the moment I am not seeing that playing out.
