Anyone else notice that when the Lions are attacking, if a Cats defender gets the bell under pressure, they make no attempt to get rid of it. just take the tackle and get the ball up

Holding the ball in years gone by but unless you fend off or try to break the tackle it’s never HTB. I wish we’d be smart and manipulate the rules like this

Cameron looks stuffed. Prime candidate for substitution.

It looked like Loemann just got bandaged on the bench, no formal HIA.

Strange that both didn’t get assessed, regular game they’d be forced off the ground.

Geelong look stuffed coming off at halftime. Might need more than the 14 extra frees

Every chance they get more

How is concussion testing still not entirely the domain of a multibillion dollar organisation, and instead left to the clubs, who have a hugely vested interest in the player not having a concussion?

The AFL aren’t serious about it.

How can Geelong get away with not following concussion protocols?

And not for the first time with this player. AFL are a disgusting compromised dis organisation.

Just saw our new coach in the Geelong rooms… bring on season 2026!!!

Umps usually even up the free kick count in the second half. Bad look otherwise

They've been doing that for years, has always annoyed the carp out if me

Tayla Harris would be filthy right now… she hates that ad. with a passion and they’ve shown it so many times already. 😂

Two All Blacks banged heads in the Bledisloe Cup game. One was straight off for a HIA. Having a concussed player on the field isn't going to help you win the game.

i'm sure she liked the pay check

We don’t have an entrant in the halftime sprint ☹️

She loved the schmick new phone she got at the time. She didn’t know they’d be still playing the ad. many years later.

The young Brisbane mids may be to quick for danger & some of the older cats players.

Cam rayner has to get into the game this half.

It’s not as bad as the ad with Isaac Heaney jumping all over Trac.

Wow the umpires are [censored] Brisbane.

If the free kick count wasn’t so out of whack I suspect the lions would be 2-3 goals up and looking very good

  • AFLW REPORT: Gold Coast

The forecast said wind. The ladder said mismatch. The scoreboard said obliteration. Melbourne didn’t just beat Gold Coast — they dismantled them: 13.15 (93) to 0.6 (6). An 87-point obliteration, the Suns held goalless, and the Demons delivering their second-highest winning margin and third-highest score in AFLW history.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #28 Will Verrall

It was a tough ask for him to break through as a 199cm ruckman in the shadow of an all-time great in that position who is also the club captain. He had some good days at Casey but was unable to progress and was delisted at the end of the season.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #29 Tom Campbell

The 33-year-old Campbell has yet to play AFL football for Melbourne, but his Casey form has been strong and he has been retained as a ready-made ruck depth option who is widely regarded as someone who is excellent for the culture of the club.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #30 Harry Sharp

The Demons acquired an interesting player in Sharp, who narrowly missed securing a spot in the Lions’ premiership team last year. The 22-year-old medium forward played in the opening round this season and ended up with 18 senior games, although he was substituted in or out in for ten of those matches. He demonstrated glimpses of form, but ultimately ended the year on the margins of the team.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #31 Bayley Fritsch

Worked his way back after a slow start and a further slump in form going into the midseason but became a solid contributor for the club in the latter half of 2025. Closing in on 300 goals for the club.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Gold Coast

On Friday, the Demons return to our Casey Fields fortress where they have a 77% win rate. The scent of September is in the air and the struggling Suns are on the horizon. The Cranbourne weather forecast? Ominous, like the match itself: a strong chance of carnage. Let’s be honest, last week’s first half against the West Coast was a training drill but we dropped our guard in the final quarter. While this match is a mismatch on paper — second versus seventeenth — football is won in the wind, the contests, and the moments.
