Geelong's premiership poster is on the money this year.

Whilst I did find this funny and even took a screenshot to send to few mates I still find myself asking the same question I’ve asked a couple of times recently on this thread and gotten no response. When you look at their list to me they have four players who would be on big coin and that would be Danger, Cameron, Stewart and Smith but is that any different to the reported amounts of money that Oliver, Trac, Gawn and Pickett are on. But when you look at the rest of their list the big name players drop off pretty quickly. I think there’s a couple of other clubs with more big name / star players than Geelong. Who else down at the Cattery is on the big coin?

Gonna be a good grand final thread next year when we are in it!!

Man I hate grand finals when we aren’t involved. 2021 has ruined these days for me

Why are neutrals even excited about this? When Dortmund won the Bundesliga back to back across 2009 to 2012 it was exciting. Since then, Bayern went on to win 11 titles in a row before Leverkusen broke the duck.

Either way, we lose. Dangerfield 2x premiership winner or Zorko tasting success in successive years. Still can’t believe Adelaide let this chance slip..

Absolute snooze fest. 😴😴

We had both these sides on toast in ‘21 and never came close to replicating that dominance again.

If you go through the line-ups, Geelong’s best players are A+ grade, but Brissie’s I’d argue is a lot deeper in quality all over the ground.

If Geelong’s defence holds up, it’s hard to see them losing.

that being the defence missing it's best player?

Yep. Just a joke. I forgot that’s not all have the same humor as me. No, I don’t wish a serious injury.

Can't see Brisbane even getting close. Where are the seven goals coming from, which was the difference three weeks ago. Too inexperienced up forward, the Neale selection is dumb, Geelong too strong around the contest. Will be a blow out, game over by midway through the third

The outside of the G is absolutely heaving.

But the weather is great & I hope for a great game.

But I'm sounding old here. We do not need songs after each goal & sitting in the ground now we don't need songs on. People are strangely happy to sit here & chat to each other

This. The powers that be seem unable to grasp the simple premise that the game is the entertainment.

Translation: your outfit is nice, my friend.

Explanation: we have a very cool young man in the cheer squad. I asked him to give me something to say to impress my hardcore hip hop & gangster rap devotee of a son and he suggested the above.

The next time my son visited, I said the above and after a lengthy pause he said, “Mum, you couldn’t possibly be any whiter than you are right now.” 😅

Baker Boy has dropped a lot of weight. I didn’t think it was him.

  • AFLW REPORT: Gold Coast

The forecast said wind. The ladder said mismatch. The scoreboard said obliteration. Melbourne didn’t just beat Gold Coast — they dismantled them: 13.15 (93) to 0.6 (6). An 87-point obliteration, the Suns held goalless, and the Demons delivering their second-highest winning margin and third-highest score in AFLW history.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #28 Will Verrall

It was a tough ask for him to break through as a 199cm ruckman in the shadow of an all-time great in that position who is also the club captain. He had some good days at Casey but was unable to progress and was delisted at the end of the season.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #29 Tom Campbell

The 33-year-old Campbell has yet to play AFL football for Melbourne, but his Casey form has been strong and he has been retained as a ready-made ruck depth option who is widely regarded as someone who is excellent for the culture of the club.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #30 Harry Sharp

The Demons acquired an interesting player in Sharp, who narrowly missed securing a spot in the Lions’ premiership team last year. The 22-year-old medium forward played in the opening round this season and ended up with 18 senior games, although he was substituted in or out in for ten of those matches. He demonstrated glimpses of form, but ultimately ended the year on the margins of the team.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #31 Bayley Fritsch

Worked his way back after a slow start and a further slump in form going into the midseason but became a solid contributor for the club in the latter half of 2025. Closing in on 300 goals for the club.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Gold Coast

On Friday, the Demons return to our Casey Fields fortress where they have a 77% win rate. The scent of September is in the air and the struggling Suns are on the horizon. The Cranbourne weather forecast? Ominous, like the match itself: a strong chance of carnage. Let’s be honest, last week’s first half against the West Coast was a training drill but we dropped our guard in the final quarter. While this match is a mismatch on paper — second versus seventeenth — football is won in the wind, the contests, and the moments.
