CASEY: Semi Final vs Frankston

Entertaining bit of chaos late in the third. We do struggle to do three things right in a row, though.

Edit: yikes, no I'm not referring to the guy who just tipped over the fence. Owww-cha.

Hardie kicks his third and there's still some optimism out there.

Culley needs to learn to play in front when resting forward

TC pinged a calf?

Inaccuracy hasn't helped either. 18 scoring shots to 17.

26 points down at 3q time. It's not looking good. Frankston are not only kicking better, they're cleaner picking up the ball and the umpires love them. Hard to see us pulling this back.

A better quarter but it would want to be after switching off for a large part of the 2nd

Defence looks totally overwhelmed whenever Frankston go forward.

We looked better in the last ten minutes. If Culley isn't pinged for a push in the back in the goalsquare, we'd still be right in this.

We're not without a chance, but we need to seriously bring it in the final quarter.

I’d say the umpires are conscious of making it out of the suburb alive

Casey have at least slowed the haemorrhaging and now showing a bit of fight.

Don’t get the train home. 😱

I suspect the last post is correct, except that Campbell will get another year as cover for Max, and Sestan deserves another, as in that quarter, he showed he can at least hit targets.

AJ fighting hard, love his endeavour.

Kolt - looks in the mirror and sees Nick Daicos…. Plays like Oscar McDonald.

Howes - very quiet, throw him on ball.

Adams, don’t see anything with him.

FULLARTON, Woey, Verrall, Brown, Sestan - DELIST

Frankston look a bit flat footed early...

20 point margin as Yze goals

I think Campbell is off injured, looked like he hurt a calf.

  • CASEY: Richmond

The winds finally returned to Casey Fields for the Demons’ third home game of the VFL season, and its impact was immediate. After two opening rounds played in uncharacteristically fine conditions, the Anzac Day clash brought back the familiar gusty conditions that have been a feature of the region at this time of the year.
Forced to kick into the breeze first, the slow-starting Demons faced a tricky opening against an enthusiastic young Tigers outfit. Casey responded by turning the contest into a scramble, pressuring Richmond into errors and missed targets. The tactic proved crucial, keeping the game tight for three and a half quarters before the Demons pulled away with the autumn wind at their backs.

  • REPORT: Richmond

It seemed as if the whole purpose of the Anzac Eve clash at the MCG between the Demons and the Tigers was building toward that single, unforgettable moment when Kozzie Pickett soared above Campbell Gray and all but fittingly etched his name onto the face of the 2026 Frank ‘Checker’ Hughes Medal.
