Casey looked a little more balanced without Jeffo.

Not his fault but when TMac was playing down back and we had Jeffo Johnson Fullarton Kentfield and Verrall up forward we were top heavy.

Fullarton could save his spot in the next few weeks if he continues his form down back. At present I'd guess he's on the wrong side of the cusp but not overly much. Saw that he was rucking occasionally. An essential skill as we are well aware

Yep, but not today! Charlie lined up at CHF through the 2nd at least and in the 3rd till he went off! Cross at FF and Ooze2 anchored there, too (though he's not short - gives Spindles Johnson a run!)

But he didn't.

Toby Green could be ho hum if he didn't convert but he was an All Australian captain because he did.

Bont and Hird remind me of Harvey Langford because they all just go bang and kick a goal when the team nees it.

Noah could have kicked 6 behinds in a gail today but he didn't.

Having said that he dwarfed the Willy mids. Very strong and he was tagged in the mid. Played well today.

Seems to have more confidence since he played in the AFL with us.

He definetly has potential to improve and play regular AFL footy.

It was a heavy tag, too; you could see him chatting the umpire about it.

But he still broke it to feed off Campbell's positioning signals (and subsequent delivery!) As did his stoppage colleagues.

Kolt - is finding composure and cutting down fumbles, still work to do but looks a cut above the rest of the mids.

Laurie, Woey, K Brown - not showing me more than good VFL players (or very good for Laurie)

Adams, Howes, Culley - have potential but have flaws, in 12 months they’re either afl players or depth.

Kentfield, Mentha, (perhaps Yze) - promising kids

Campbell, AJ - depth talls

Billings, Fullarton - playing out their deals

Spargo - depth flanker

Sestan - most interesting guy out there, he’s been out forever and comes back and immediately looks a class above with his skills, just not sure how it translates to afl footy.

He's an elite kick and used that asset to cut a swath through the gulls and help us move the ball effectively and efficiently off HB.

He also attacked a number of loose ball contests at ground level aggressively, knocking the ball forward and occasionally breaking up their chains with some good body work.

Surely he's worth persisting with. A possible replacement for Salo at some stage or an alternate look down back when we don't need a third tall or medium tall?

I don’t know about today but two weeks ago vs Box Hill it was compulsory for the seniors to be there

So this week I checked and double-checked and even triple-checked that I had my phone before leaving the rooms (something I should’ve done last match, but didn’t 🙄). But as I was walking out of the ground I heard someone call my name from a distance. It was Bill Laurie and he was holding something up. I ran back and he said “You must’ve dropped this.” It was my Luker badge. I said “How did you know it’s mine?” He said, “We all knew it was yours. Everyone knows how much you love him.”

And here I thought I was being discreet. 😅

Didn’t he look great running through the middle with ball in hand: with purpose and so confident, he knew exactly what to do.

I imagine today wouldn’t be compulsory as anyone not eligible for Casey is technically in their off season period and that time is pretty well controlled by the AFLPA. They can’t be made to do anything club related in this time.

So anyone who did turn up did that obligation free which is really nice to see. Especially the older players who I’m sure are very keen for time off and to spend time with their neglected families.
