Just back from a quick visit to Adelaide and saw the result . Fantastic!

Is there a replay of the game somewhere?

It'll be on the AFL fixtures and results site, tomorrow, I reckon.

Chin, Lever, Rooey, Caleb, Vines, Disco.

And Ooze senior, as mentioned.

I dunno. I'd guess most of the seniors just turn up to these finals games every time. The ones missing probably need a bit of an excuse

Fullerton?

Was good but I think his paper's are stamped he won't be at the club next year.

Casey looked a little more balanced without Jeffo.

Not his fault but when TMac was playing down back and we had Jeffo Johnson Fullarton Kentfield and Verrall up forward we were top heavy.

Fullarton could save his spot in the next few weeks if he continues his form down back. At present I'd guess he's on the wrong side of the cusp but not overly much. Saw that he was rucking occasionally. An essential skill as we are well aware

Yep, but not today! Charlie lined up at CHF through the 2nd at least and in the 3rd till he went off! Cross at FF and Ooze2 anchored there, too (though he's not short - gives Spindles Johnson a run!)

For those without access to the scores, it's a tight game midway through the last quarter.

Williamstown 8.7.55 are leading Noah Yze 7.0.42.

Well, if he is going to let in 8 goals then he shouldn’t get drafted

Don't get me wrong - yze has been good.

It's just a funny game as a forward when you get a bit of luck and convert your opportunities. He could easily have 2.2 and it would have been a good but ho-hum half.

But he didn't.

Toby Green could be ho hum if he didn't convert but he was an All Australian captain because he did.

Bont and Hird remind me of Harvey Langford because they all just go bang and kick a goal when the team nees it.

Noah could have kicked 6 behinds in a gail today but he didn't.

2022 Grand Final says hullo! 😄 (though only Woewodin, Laurie and Baldi from today's side can draw on it...)

And, if Tommy provides what he did today, no probs!

(Your capital 'IF' noted!)

I know people want to know if the AFL listed players are in attendance, but I want to know if anyone has eyes on Buckley? 🤣

Apparently Steven King was there taking notes, as was a ‘scout’ from another club but I can’t remember who.

Culley needs to tie his hair back. Seemed to distracted him having to push it back all the time.

Having said that he dwarfed the Willy mids. Very strong and he was tagged in the mid. Played well today.

Seems to have more confidence since he played in the AFL with us.

He definetly has potential to improve and play regular AFL footy.

It was a heavy tag, too; you could see him chatting the umpire about it.

But he still broke it to feed off Campbell's positioning signals (and subsequent delivery!) As did his stoppage colleagues.

An elim final win means nothing for the long term future of the seniors. But it gives them another chance to keep testing themselves in high pressure games. Guys who play well in the big VFL finals often translate to afl footy.

Kolt - is finding composure and cutting down fumbles, still work to do but looks a cut above the rest of the mids.

Laurie, Woey, K Brown - not showing me more than good VFL players (or very good for Laurie)

Adams, Howes, Culley - have potential but have flaws, in 12 months they’re either afl players or depth.

Kentfield, Mentha, (perhaps Yze) - promising kids

Campbell, AJ - depth talls

Billings, Fullarton - playing out their deals

Spargo - depth flanker

Sestan - most interesting guy out there, he’s been out forever and comes back and immediately looks a class above with his skills, just not sure how it translates to afl footy.

Thought Sesto was fab today.

He's an elite kick and used that asset to cut a swath through the gulls and help us move the ball effectively and efficiently off HB.

He also attacked a number of loose ball contests at ground level aggressively, knocking the ball forward and occasionally breaking up their chains with some good body work.

Surely he's worth persisting with. A possible replacement for Salo at some stage or an alternate look down back when we don't need a third tall or medium tall?

I don’t know about today but two weeks ago vs Box Hill it was compulsory for the seniors to be there

The gulls were hoping for chips.

Haha always. The tater cakes are better at Casey though imho 💪🏼

Kolt had some pretty key moments today.

That was the best i've seen him play at either level after quarter time.

His link up work, B lining the pill on occasions and work in getting inside out (and in particular going corridor where possible) was very nice to watch.

More movement, less fumbles and more one touch instinctive clean gives.

So this week I checked and double-checked and even triple-checked that I had my phone before leaving the rooms (something I should’ve done last match, but didn’t 🙄). But as I was walking out of the ground I heard someone call my name from a distance. It was Bill Laurie and he was holding something up. I ran back and he said “You must’ve dropped this.” It was my Luker badge. I said “How did you know it’s mine?” He said, “We all knew it was yours. Everyone knows how much you love him.”

And here I thought I was being discreet. 😅

He was at the Collingwood game too ... taking notes for his new horror about a community who all choke simultaneously!

Didn’t he look great running through the middle with ball in hand: with purpose and so confident, he knew exactly what to do.

I imagine today wouldn’t be compulsory as anyone not eligible for Casey is technically in their off season period and that time is pretty well controlled by the AFLPA. They can’t be made to do anything club related in this time.

So anyone who did turn up did that obligation free which is really nice to see. Especially the older players who I’m sure are very keen for time off and to spend time with their neglected families.

Frankston next week I believe

That’s much much tougher. Frankston at Frankston. Fiery local home ground. Will test Casey once the pressure comes on.

Our version of the Hawk version of Brad Guerra playing out of the back pocket with the bullet passes to a team mate running through the corridor?

Yes they have beaten some big teams.

Won’t be easy.

Not bad comparison.

Similar build too.

If we can get Sestan to AFL level he can take Bowey’s role and it’ll allow us to get Bowey up the field kicking the ball inside 50

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.
