Wade Derkson delisted by GWS, could this have been our plan all along?

We would have to pass on one of White or Sinnema to take him. Not sure it's been confirmed but I remember reading an article that suggested we will likely commit to both.

What other parts of a game are there?!

Can he cook?

Would very much hope we hold our pix where they are

I'd be downgrading them before upgrading them

More a list spot issue.

Unless my maths is off we only have 5 spots left.

7, 8, 37 + White and Sinnema

We can take Derkson in the National, PSD or rookie draft but to do that then we would say goodbye to pick 37 or Sinnema.

Anyone know who the guy on the far right is??

I believe he was the same person in the photo outside Melbourne HQ.. delisted free agent?

We're not taking Derksen, that's dead.

We have KPB options out the ying-yang - Turner, Petty, Adams, Lever, May, TMac and even when the last two retire at the end of next year we're still covered. We're picking up White who has played a bit of junior footy there too.

Agree. Berry developing there as well.

This could be an all time blunder on my behalf but I find Robey underwhelming in the football part of his game.

Not to worry. I was talking down Pickett before we drafted him. 🤣

I'd love to understand the maths to our list spots.

From a changes list we have gained 4 players and lost 11, which is a net loss of 7 players somewhere. What spots do we have free on the senior vs rookie list?

What’s the likelihood of us taking Yze as a rookie? He was showing a lot of promise towards the end of the season at Casey.

Last page of this thread shows the detail.

We have to drop 2 players more than we get as we exceeded our limit of 42 with the two SSP players to cover long term injuries.

So I make it as 5 list spots: 3 Senior List and 2 A-Rookie list.

I'm not a good judge of young talent but people who are seem to think it's extremely unlikely. He is described having good attributes for lower levels but they don’t translate to the AFL level.

That's Barnahy Joyce isn't it?

Now there's a locker room conflict pre-packaged in a box with a bow. Or bottle, I guess.

Makes Geelong look above board with the jobs at sponsors and property 'tips', too.

Can confirm having spoken to someone that its Oliver Green, and not Brad's young fella.

Ex Sandy dragons, small forward who is quick and nimble. Played in the Coates League flag in 2024 and then was recruited by Casey Demons for this season.

Played just the one games against Southport, but played majority of his footy at Parkdale Vultures in the VAFA league where he also represented the league at interleague level.

Tommy sparrow is much more lean than I remember. It looks like he’s been putting in a lot of work to improve his running. Great to see

He’s a very strong and powerful kid, so I guess athleticism?

I watched the highlights of the game where he had 40 & 3 (?) and the three shots on goal might have been the only possessions to find targets

From my limited YT armchair it appears his kicking is more a result of a so so footy IQ, a long long way off Langford and Lindsay in that space. He's strong overhead with good wheels and strength. He doesn't mind using his left peg too although one horrendous turnover

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
