So glad they won.

Last quarter full of Dodgy free kicks and Dodgy timekeeping.

34 minute last quarter??

Mustโ€™ve been a lot of goals scored? No only a couple! FFS

Great win

Happy Jonah Hill GIF

Best: Kentfield. Billings. Freeman. Bonner. Spargo.

Duursma will be a star. Wish we had access to him

Annable to Lions. Ffs. Zone pre academy is [censored] โ€ฆ unfair advantage to Lions, Swans, Giants & Suns. Prindable also very good and we might bid on him.

Just the type of game to win heading into the finals, zocalo was that Tom Fullartonโ€™s best game on the Red and blue. Our backline was under siege for a lot of that game. How good is zluker Kentfield and finally all our youngsters had a real dip, go Kolt.!!

After getting excited about finals I just realised we probably have to beat box hill next week to make it

oh the highs and lows

the three quarters i saw was the sort of quality football and high pressured contest that is more entertaining than most thursday nights in the afl this season

stats:

4: bonner
3: duursma
2: campbell

I think youโ€™ll find GW was having fun as the commentator was calling him Kenterfield.

Great team win. Nice to see Spargo showing some form. Gutsy last quarter. The boys were able to hang on despite the effort of the whistle muppets who kept the Lions in the game

Fun fact: Shadeau (pronounced โ€˜Shadowโ€™) Brain is one of 13* (THIRTEEN) children. All seven brothers and his dad play Aussie Rules footy.

*No Brady Bunching here. His parents have had 13 children together

It annoyed the hell out of me. He also called Pup Brown Kenan instead of Kynan.

Just realised that Lindsay isnโ€™t named for Casey. That's two weeks now of no games at either level for him. Management after a long year or perhaps an injury concern? No mention of him in this week's injury report.

Lindsay was struggling 6 weeks ago. Very poor management not to rest him and/or play him at Casey. Typical of the Goodwin era.

Good grief. Can you list 3 things that the Goodwin era has done right? Even one would impress.

Goody being sacked and getting bagged for not selecting Lindsay when he's no longer at the club at Casey is peak Cranky

To be fair to CF (hard as it is), he may have meant he should have been rested 6 weeks ago rather than the 2 (or 3?) he hasn't played.

Can't wait see Kentfield get a go before the season is out.

Very impressive consistent block at VFL

Agree. Right now Iโ€™d give Kentfield a game ahead of AJ or Jeffo. Though heโ€™ll probably see out the season at Casey. If he has ripper pre season, he might a debut chance for round 1.

Read the post properly BM.

It was obvious to most observers that Lindsay needed a rest 6 or so weeks ago.

The management of some of the younger players has been terrible this year - Lindsay, Kolt, McVee & Windsor.

The worst poster on this site by a few lengths.

1.Recruiting Steven May

2. Delisting Josh Schache

3. Delisting Josh Wagner

ย

Kentfield off no preseason is having some VFL season. Also like seeing Fullerton down back.

So you only were able to find one good thing, namely May. Every club delists several players who wonโ€™t quite make it. Naming 2 of ours doesnโ€™t count.

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterdayโ€™s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown andย  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
