Dear JTR I don’t know your personal circumstances but I doubt that many members (if any) have travelled as far and as often and laid as much air flight dollars and hotel expenses as I have over many decades - year-in and year-out - to support the Demons every week.

So show some respect to those who are at wits end and propose civic action to put pressure on the management who have overseen this train wreck but refuse to take responsibility.

I'm not talking about people like you William, so no disrespect intended.

And our Dees Girls in a few weeks!

Pretty Self-explanatory

i think members will vote with their wallets

no change of coach no membership renewal

and besides, after today's shambles, a lot of supporters won't turn up anyways

Personally, I don't think i'll watch another game until Goodwin goes.

Not trying to boycott or anything like that, the club will still be there after he's gone and i get that.

Quite simply though, my mental health just simply can't cop anymore of this.

I'll be there showing an old school friend his first game of afl. What a game to start

I took my mate too his first afl game last week against Carlton. That went well too 😊

I'd be amazed if there were more than 2000 Melbourne fans there today. We might get the entire crowd in a couple of corporate boxes next week, boycott or not.

Right now I couldn't give a stuff. If people want to go, that's great, if people dont want to go that's also fine.

Injury permitting I'll be there but that's only because I'm a rusted on silly person. Weekends are short, there is time that could be spent elsewhere. I'm not going to put anyone down.

I think a boycott for many has already occurred. Prior to today that is.

NO. That says more about the supporter base than the club. Shocking post.

The supporters have no say at all BG other than whether they take up a membership or renew their existing ones.

No one at the club gives a FF about what the supporters think or say unless it's something stupidly threatening in a violence sense as we saw earlier, or an incident at the footy by one of our own (something ban worthy) or someone drops a truck load of manure in the entrance of AAMI park etc.

I'll be going because I go every week. I'll be taking Lord Edward and that's that.

But I'll go because I'm a Melbourne supporter, not because I think we'll win.

The damage is already done BG.

Under 10k next week.

100% this. Going to more Casey matches since 2023 (other than milestone games for select individual players at senior level) than seniors now AAAAND.... loving it!

They are a joy to watch and attend under Whitford in comparison.

And you can also pay cash at the food stalls at about 50% of MCG prices.

It also feels and looks like a real footy 'TEAM' that plays to a clear plan, structure and for each other for mine.

Players gut running in support, skills, crazy deperation/spoils/1%ers and smarts (not always but a fair chunk of the time anyways). Goal kicking accuracy pretty decent too!

Boycott won't be necessary, we'll struggle to crack 10k anyway.

I'll go if either of my kids are keen otherwise I'll stay home with them. My parents, brother, sister, uncle and cousins have all checked out. I dragged a couple of them along last week against Carlton, this week none of them came there's no chance they'll come next week after today.

They get to vote and decided to keep the status quo.

That's on the members.

What are you talking about? Maybe there are players or staff that prioritise getting more spare time who take short cuts. But overall surely every club wants success, success, success even it's more a coincidence that that's the same thing the supporters want. Surely no one on the MFC payroll wanted that result today nor would be surprised supporters didn't either.

Missing the point. All clubs no doubt want / desire success.

What im saying is... whether the supporters boycott or not makes no difference to any club's decision making, planning, game style etc.

They'll get their share of the Fox (etc) $$ as will the Coaches, players and the entire FD regardless, as long as the advertising / merch $$ keep flowing in from the AFL coffers.

What the average supporter base does or thinks would be on their list but it would be super low priority. We are just a minor part of a massive money spinning circus.

Ok. I agree with a lot of that. But still a club's employees mostly would "go into work" each day focussed on on-field success. I don't think the fact that even the 18th team gets a cut of the pie means many in the staff want to just coast along.

I have never said that is what our club (or clubs) or some within those clubs are thinking. Although having said that, what's to say there aren't a few that do so. You would have to be quite naive to think that everyone is on exactly the same 'hell bent' path to leave no stone unturned every single match of every season they get to play. Partly why some players excel where some may struggle (talent / luck with injuries aside).

Regardless of what they think, what the fans do in terms of boycottimg or not, would not influence what most within the club are aiming to achieve each day / week.

The $$ keep flowing regardless if they are seeking to win flags or just coast along as you say.

The fans are just there to make stadiums appear to be full or as full as possible for the AFL authorised / preferred broadcasters' headlines, sound bites & promos.

The entire pre-game / in game and post game show is now fully transferable & pretty much identical regardless of which two clubs and colours are on show now and all clubs are pretty much on the same budget.

After this weeks embarrassing performance and the low crowd numbers anticipated on Saturday we will be labelled irrelevant again.

Boycotting would only hurt the club further

There's a difference between wanting success and doing the hard work required to achieve it.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.
