And some of you on here think the media don't have any sort of set against the club.

Been saying it for years and get laughed at every time....There is a dead set bias against Melbourne.

Great half!

Viney 10 tackles

Fritsch marking everything

Gawn silver service to Kozzi - Delicious

Trac impactful fwd

Rivers back in form

At the ground it is so noticeable that our work rate drops off late in quarters. We must be so unfit.

Fritsch is the only forward who plays in front and leads at the football. Van Rooyen has completely lost the ability to lead and take a mark. He and Petty must be so easy to play against.

We're doing a lot right for the first 20 minutes in each quarter, but St Kilda are closer than they should be. This is a long way from over.

If Fox is that bad switch to channel 7 people.

Beyond me why anyone would willingly listen to that commentary team on Fox. Ears bleeding type stuff.

It's not on 7 in Brisbane! Or I would.

Underwood having Bowy shot at dawn......STFU

Nothing perceived by the crowd, other than 'Baaaaalll!' for the Saint's tackle then 'Baaaaallll! for Bowey's.

Hopefully Michael's at the game and not watching his TV...

It's a fair call about Roo. He doesn't hold them like has in the past.

It's a now become a significant issue in his game.

He's fast and gets there first but doesn't hold them anymore.

Not sure what's happened with him.

TWO posession to half time JUST 2 PATHETIC Petty woeful as a forward, BUT everyone on here knows this...VAN ROOYEN JUST AS BAD!! HEY GOODY PLAY JEFFO AND KENTFIELD FOR THE REST OF THE YEAR, But wont coz stubborn playing favs has paid of... NOT

Underwood and Brereton- I’m turning off my hearing aids

You do know it's on FTA on Channel 7 yeah? No Underwood and no Brereton.

Alternatively, stop choosing to listen to the commentary and use that mute button instead.

He never clunked them really

Went to the same 2-grab marking school as Sam Weideman

That's harsh.

I think he's always shown much more intent and effort than SW but his soft hands now are killing him.

He used to be better.

He either improves soon or goes the way of SW.

He's lucky there isn't anyone breaking down the door.

Playing him in the ruck probably hasn't helped but truth be told often the reason he gets games.

He and Jeffo are a big concern given how much we have invested in them.

I just hope we go on a serious spending spree soon and move heaven and earth to secure some experienced big bodied fwds .

We deserve a medal for watching this game with Kelli Underwood commentating (again).

Kelli Underwood: "Saints have kicked the last two goals of the half including the last one."

I think Jeffo was hard done by being dropped.

Wasn't fantastic but last week was his best game in an upward trajectory of form albeit the smallest of increments.

But way to kill the kids fragile confidence.

And you know where I stand on Petty.

K underwood is a terrible commentator to listen to right up there with BT. Her voice is so grating

Cannot understand how she gets a gig tbh.

Nothing left to play for except pride, and suddenly we look like a top-four side again.

Magic from Fritsch, Petracca dominant, Oliver lively and Chandler lifting his game.

Just forget the (justified) moans about Kellie Underwood, folks, and enjoy the Dees showing a bit of genuine class.

Of course, one has to add the caveat that this is Melbourne and there are two quarters to go ..............

That was a good half but it's so [censored] infuriating the way we always give the opposition a couple of red time goals. It does my head in.

How can a player run in from behind Viney taking his kick? Isn't that in the mythical "protected zone"?

Umpire called play on the saints player was standing next to his opponent at the time.

Turn the sound down & turn on the subtitles😁

We are playing well but when it goes near JVR and Petty it's just a straight turnover for the Saints. Those 2 need to lift big time in the 2nd half. I'll be the first to cheer when either of them take a pack mark.

Don’t stress Picket it’s not worth it as we all know it won’t change until Goodwin is no longer coach.

I’m sure in his mind if we win today he will think c I am right choosing the same players.

It would be less painful for us to bag our heads against a brick wall tbh.

  • PREVIEW: Hawthorn

Hawthorn and Melbourne. Two teams with impressive form from last week but with seasons that are travelling on different trajectories meet in Saturday’s twilight game for what could well be the most intriguing contest of the AFL’s penultimate round. Sadly, the game has been relegated to that unappealing time slot in the weekend when Melburnians are typically preoccupied with activities other than football. It falls between the morning's shopping, afternoon sport and recreation, and Saturday night fever. A time usually reserved for relatively insignificant events but this one is not a nothingburger for either of the clubs or their fans.

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
