In just my view

Melky should not play the last two games give him a rest we need him fit n firing in 26

Salem Best game for far too long

Chandler better than I thought he would be

JvR Getting better in the Ruck but he does kick well for goal.

TMac rusty then solid like a rock

One point Oliver tracca fritta Kossy Bowey Langford Langdon May

Not enough support for Gawn who just about locked away his 8th AA jacket today. The man is an absolute freak of nature.

If anyone says he isn’t the best ruckman of the modern era they can give themselves an uppercut.

6 - Jake Melksham - match winner

5 - Christian Petracca - so determined

4 - Harvey Langford - what a ripper

3 - Christian Salem - best for a while

2 - Bailey Fritsch - 3 of the best

1 - Max Gawn - another great game

Great team effort shout out to Matty Jefferson, showed a bit today could have had 3 took some punishment but took it in his stride and Tommy Sparrow kicks a beautiful goal then felled by Xerri, hope that he is OK.

I’d love to beat Hawthorn in round 23 to snuff out their top 4 dreams, and Melksham was sorely missing in our first battle with them. Therefore I’d be very keep for him to play that game, and as many games as possible on the run home.

  1. Melksham. Kicking 5 whilst having someone wear you all day is an amazing effort. The man is like a fine wine and continues make fantastic leads into space and importantly, clunking some high quality contested marks.

  1. Petracca. I'm probably judging him harshly as on paper his game was fantastic and he looks nearly back to his best. He just had a couple ordinary kicks today that would have seen him get BOG in my world. Just still not quite lacing them but some of his bullocking work was top notch and I think his body nerves from previous injuries are just about over. Look out 2026

  1. Fritsch. Like Melksham above, I always rate forwards impact higher than mids who can get cheapy touches all day. This bloke today was absolute class in both his goal kicking and his delivery in. I feel he gets treated harshly sometimes here as he's a pure finisher who will always look poor in a poor team. With Melksham owning the space deep and giving us a half decent target, its great to see him get on his bike and show some more of his skills

  1. Salem. Another who I think gets some harsh feedback at times here as he has a bit of the Mark Waugh vibe that looks like he's not trying. A few great intercepts today but more importantly, his delivery inside 50 a few times was just magic and something we haven't seen for a while. Was great seeing him getting some touches forward of centre

  1. Langford. I wanted him if we had pick 1. Have always rated him as he is absolute class with the ball and owning the wing at present. The only shame about him playing so well there is that we haven't seen much of him running straight through the guts where I think he'll be even better. Have really enjoyed his spacing and not getting sucked in and within 3 years, I think he'll be our best player.

  1. TMac. Was by far our best key defender today. I get why he's been out of team with the combo of May/Lever/Tuner being preferred on paper, but we're all aware that right now on form, he deserves to be there over Jake and looks far more assured attacking contests and rebounding well.

Unlucky to Gawn as didn't quite have his usual impact and Kozzy who if he kicked his other two opportunities he would have polled.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Gold Coast

On Friday, the Demons return to our Casey Fields fortress where they have a 77% win rate. The scent of September is in the air and the struggling Suns are on the horizon. The Cranbourne weather forecast? Ominous, like the match itself: a strong chance of carnage. Let’s be honest, last week’s first half against the West Coast was a training drill but we dropped our guard in the final quarter. While this match is a mismatch on paper — second versus seventeenth — football is won in the wind, the contests, and the moments.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #32 Tom Sparrow

The rugged Sparrow’s career appears to have plateaued in recent years. He makes the side on a week to week basis but he is unable to establish a foothold in the team’s midfield and arguably performs best outside of the contest in a forward position without being a goal kicker. He remains a good honest foot soldier but is not a star.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #33 Tom Fullarton

Fullarton managed a couple of games in the first half of the season but soon found himself back in the VFL. There, he found a niche at centre half back but it was not enough to retain a place on the list at season’s end.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #35 Harrison Petty

Entering 2025, it looked as if Petty would be secured in a defensive position, but plans shifted and he spent more time forward, averaging just over a goal per game throughout the season. It remains uncertain which area of the ground he will be expected to cover under the new coaching regime.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #36 Kysaiah Pickett

The dynamic small forward, possessing an innate ability to generate excitement with his explosive play around the goals, successfully transitioned into a role that afforded him more time in the midfield. The club also negotiated a long-term deal with Pickett, thereby eliminating any prospect of a move west by their star young player.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #37 Kade Chandler

For a few years now, he has been a reliable, hard working pressure forward, but in 2025, Chandler elevated his performance, becoming an integral component of the team with enough versatility to play effectively on a wing from time to time.
