Lever playing loose is the reason he was dropped and why its cost us goals. Spent majority of the game against Port guarding grass and being next to ineffective the whole time.

Clubs have worked him out fairly easily and if you can get him body on body he gets beaten easily.

Hes become more of a liability as the season goes on.

I'd be throwing him up as trade bait at the end of the year.

200% this. Norf's backline is full of c-graders. They would take Lever in a heartbeat, pay his salary, and give us a first rounder. Would also give Jake a new lease-of-life I recon. We should have let JV go to Norf last year. Would have been good for Jack, Norf and us.

How does Sharp keep getting games??

I wonder if we get belted this weekend the media will jump on us. I feel like Carlton's demise has taken the pressure off us. We are a club in no-man's-land and I feel supporter engagement is at an all time low.

With the way Adelaide are playing this could be a 10 goal loss.

Only 10?

well done goody and co, bring in lever who has been useless this year and is still injured clearly???? instead of adams who has been very promising and consistent every game in the twos. tex will destory him. also this mob will be extra fired up because of the anniversary of phil walsh's death, sunday will be ugly kudos to those attending

Not sure anyone is giving us a first rounder for Lever.

Don't bet on it. Pick 25 was involved in the Caleb Daniel pick last year - and it's a complete bust. If Daniel was worth P25 then Lever is top 5!

I hope you’re right.

No idea, so over Goodwin

What has TMac done to be banished from this rabble? He was one of our most consistent defenders before being dropped. Chalk up another Goodwin non selection stuff up this season.

Very predictable

Season is done so we should have used this opportunity to play some of the lesser lights. Why not give bill laurie a run. What’s to lose?

goal kicking, poor selection and playing players out of position are killing the team

if goody was an average or poor coach still and we just improved on these three simple things we would be in the top 8 this is what disappoints me about all this bs

Final teams are in. As I suspect most expected, it's Lever and van Rooyen in for Petty and Howes. Billings, McDonald and Adams are the emergencies.

So absolutely predictable and uninspiring.

so the big Roo kicks a goal in the 2s and is rushed back into the 1s must have been a great goal.Sadly our club has become a joke

So JVR and Jeffo up forward with Melksham and Fritsch with JVR rucking again. Do the same thing expect the same result. If I was JVR I'd be seeking a trade this offseason, Goodwin is destroying his development.

It's unbelievable right? May, Lever, Turner vs Thilthorpe, Walker, Fogarty 😬

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
