If you think that what he did in round 23 2024 was worthy of a 3 game suspension, then you are the problem.

Yes he needs to control his aggression, but he’s an amazing footballer who makes us a significantly better team.

Lyon loses today. His job was on the line. They, their team had to tell him that even though other Interstate Clubs got the good gifted players from the AFL handed out to them (interstate) on a platter. They , his players, are still trying their guts out.

Ideal result, foregone conclusion before the bounce....

We bounce back next week.

If that’s indeed what we’re doing, it’s madness. At 5-6, with the draw we have, we should be doing everything to win the games we have left against the weaker sides, today being one of those wins. Prioritising fitness for KB or some other period in July or August is useless when you start 0-5.

Who knows if this is what actually happened of course. But record low pressure levels and a stack of players barely touching it compared to their usual output (Langdon had just 13 touches! Clarry 16, Rivers 14, Salem 14, Langford 10) maybe suggests something was up. Maybe.

I'm glad you're at least acknowledging the likely loading, because it was pretty clear our guys couldn't cover the field.

The first half TOG for a bunch of our guys was really unusual too.

Only one mid (Trac) cracked 20 disposals (with 7 pressure acts) - Max equalled Trac with 22 disposals for a team high touches. Oliver had 16 touches (10 pressure acts!), Rivers had 14 touches and 17 pressure acts (spent a third of the game at half back).

You then had our best pressure player over rhe last 6 weeks in Tom Sparrow with only 11 pressure acts, Chandler with 14 pressure acts.

These are not guys that don't bring consistent effort. It's just they couldn't get out of first gear.

Guys help me out here. Your season is on the line, you've been mostly garbage but you're 3 goals down at 3QT. Everything hinges on this last quarter.

You come out with a pressure rating of 130 in a quarter that was anything but kick-mark. It boggles the mind.

The only time you should see 7.21 is in the morning and the evening.

No one was tagging Oliver.

To half time he had 6 disposals. 5 of them were uncontested and 1 contested. He had 3 goals assists and 4 score involvements to half time.

He couldn't break from stoppage, that was the problem.

We had 3 top 4 finishes in a row. You might have been negative all the way through 2022 and 2023, but I loved it. And the 2023 flag was there for the taking if we'd had a bit more 2021 luck.

We're not loading. And were never loading outside of pre-season. A few extra running drills around the bye isn't loading, it's maintenance.

A lot of people were critical of our second half inaccuracy of 1.12 today but it was nowhere near our worst ever half of 1.15 back in 1979 against Hawthorn.

Lever sucks when he comes back from injury. Takes him weeks to get into it, and he gets injured ever year. He can't be a future captain.

The reality is we're lacking depth and our kids are too raw to compete now. I just hope that the likes of Petracca and Kozzy will be around by the time they come on.

Zak Jones seemed to be tagging and harassing the entire midfield, while also getting his fair share of the ball.

It wasn't that hard if Oliver kept finding himself free in the corridor, hence the 3 goal assists to half time.

That's not how it works. There's no meaningful benefit for knocking the players around for a week in-season, quite the reverse. If you want them to be cherry-ripe you give them LESS training, not more.

Pickett had a hard tag and he still had 3 score involvements..

This was spoken about pre game on radio that Jones would be tagging Oliver.

They were pleased with his efforts last week in limiting Matt Rowells influence last week and again he did the job today exceptionally well.

That was Oliver's worst game of the year.

I know. He focused on the real issue, which was the fact that we had no control over the game whatsoever in the first quarter. I think that’s more what will be focused on during the review.

I was just poking fun at the couple of posters wanting to write letters to the club, seemingly thinking the club was unaware and required feedback that missing goals is bad.

Can’t believe we lost to a team that has Zak Jones & Mason Wood in their best 22.
