Turner is a mile ahead of JVR in terms of forward craft (mobility) comtested marking and pressure (closing speed etc) inside 50 when the oppo gets it.

I'd be making the above move (and should've happened today from half time) until Petty and/or Lever return.

Simon has to be one of the worst H&A match day coaches in terms of seeing and swinging in the changes that might help towards winning games when the writing is on the wall early on that you simply won't win playing the present configuration.

It was so obvious how today was going to pan out it became laughably predicable.

Many around me were also seeing it the same way and making similar assessments at half time.

Nobody knows more about having bad takes than you so I’m genuinely honoured that you’ve finally passed on the title to me 😢—thanks chief.

I’d like to take this opportunity to also thank myself for seeing the many many positives in our game instead of being a bitter angry poster who shows up on this forum solely to week after week say our team and half the players on it suck.

I’m sure it’s been mentioned - but what a great moment when Oliver received the ball on the burst in the first. The crowd was awesome and the kick to Sparrow was perfect.

Absolutely there were positives. Langford and our willingness to actually take the game on. The pressure we applied was up as well.

But we lost by 35 points in the end. We weren't the better team because we lost. Anyone that says that is far too easily pleased and accepts mediocrity which you are well known around here.

Had plenty of mates who missed from closer, I think Max has given a lot & pushed us over the line , it’s time others stepped up

3 things really stood out to me today watching from the stands.

We too often get sucked into the middle of the ground from both ends simultaneously. The oppo forwards get space back and when we have the ball our forwards are too far up the ground and we end up with no one to kick to.

Our basic skills are diving off a cliff. Error filled disposal from a team filled with premiership players is bizarre.

We clearly don't do enough goal kicking practice. At least 5 set shots were missed within 40m and that's unacceptable.

Changes for next week?

Out : Fritsch, Jeffo, Tholstrup, McVee

In : AJ, Melksham, Viney, Petty

Respectfully i think Clarry did enough to keep his spot, fritsch has no pressure factor at all and melksham at least kicks 1 a game and dishes off a few and tackles a bit, Tholstrup of the 4 early picks over the last two years is struggling the most, AJ because I think at least two talls in the fwd line is needed and he is a better chop out in the ruck than roo and he provides pressure as well, Petty has sticky hands, mcvee didn't perform as well as the rest of the back group today

I wish we had two discos. One forward and one back, bloke gets to the right spots regardless of what end he plays.

Max has carried this side all season and his miss was far from the worst today. That shot he had was also off the back of 3 contested marks in 90 secs all over the ground to help keep the ball in our forward half.

The kids played well and our experienced defenders leaked goals in the last.

The result was as I expected but we are developing some good young players.

We played well and had we taken our chances and the umpires opened their eyes I think we could have got ourselves 4-5 goals up. We need better fitness to run the game out and we still can’t kick 35m goals. Really disappointing result, change a few things as be we win that

Look I don’t mean to sound flippant but can you explain to me what your expectations are for this team this season? I genuinely cannot figure it out.

I feel like I’ve seen you say many times that we don’t have the list to make a run this year. But then you and so many others still seem enraged when we don’t win and there are shortcomings on our list.

So is it not better to be pleased by the fact that we played better than a likely top 6 (maybe 4) team for much of the game and, with better umpiring, likely would’ve been up by quite a bit coming into the 4th?

I don’t expect to win a premiership this year. I expect us to play fairly well in spurts. And we did that today.

Incredibly frustrating to watch us butcher set shots again.

We have improved a lot since the last match I watched a month ago but still have a lot to work on if we are to challenge for finals next year

We need to get games into Adam’s this year

I personally don’t think Jake Lever is a big out with the way the game is currently played

We need to find a way to get back into the first round of the draft this year

If we sacked our fitness boss this week I wouldn’t be disappointed

I am not convinced a couple of our youngsters will live up to their draft positions

I hope Kozzie plays his entire career with us

Oliver has a journey back but I believe in him 1000%, just hope it’s with us. Trac, Gawn. Gods. The youth are incredible, Lindsay was excellent, Langford sublime. Windsor set himself a high standard. Kolt should’ve started. There’s a lot of improvement from McVee. Fritch was playing on Sicily which is no small task, thought he did ok.

Our forward line and they way we deliver it in (including lack of finesse, poise, decent decision making, forward craft and finish in front of goals) has now been farcical for at least 2.5 seasons now Pates.

That is fully on the coach who has had this group under his wing for an eternity now and who must have had a significant say in the retention of Stafford and the then appointment of Chaplin who is also in charge of team offence.

The time for excuses is up. Our method of play and effectiveness forward of center is a complete and utter failure at all levels against pretty much anyone other than the worst rated teams where we sometimes look fair to ok.
