His old man was such a compact player. I hated seeing him play for Port although it was good for his career.

Hope his form continues to trend upwards.

Time to keep a closer eye on Archie.

Made his reserves debut yesterday for West Adelaide and had 26 disposals and 11 marks.

This is off the back of two straight week of 36 disposal game against Norwood and backed it up with a 38 disposal game a week later.

Like the fact he gets a lot of the ball. Something we have a lack of.

An absolute no brainer this one, I feel a long range special coming on.

Maybe

He's played one game in the SANFL reserves. The team lost but he played well with around 12 kicks and 15 handballs. (I rate him higher in a losing team)

Hope you're right but let's see

I reckon he's worth a rookie spot.@Diamond_Jim

Can we trade JT for a guy that can identify forward talent?

Identify forward talent - what Kozzie, LJ, Fritta, and JVR aren't enough?

I guess you want JT to control the forward entry so it's not just bombs to dead pockets and loose men in defence as well.

without JT we dont have a flag and probably don't exist, zero brain cells this guy has this aint a pies or port forum

Like the idea of grabbing Walsh(hopefully late/cheap), from all the chatter this years draft crop won’t be as good generally so good to have our picks protected to a degree.

Hope we straighten out our draft hand for 2026 and let JT loose to mine the 2nd and 3rd round gems. If there’s any chance to bolster our hand next year because we know we don’t need to cover points matching (admittedly risky), would be good to trade picks to the teams scrambling to make up points. ie if we can trade our second rounder this year to a later second rounder and upgrade next years fourth to a teams third, might not seem much but could make a world of difference to both sides. That said we need to make sure we can pay for kalani sinnema and Walsh as necessary so hope they have a good read on where bids will come

Could be.

I suppose I've had the gloss taken off by K Brown and Woewodin plus Stretch before that. All good solid VFL players but lacking that little bit extra

IIRC pick 54 plus is where Carlton picked up one of the Camporeale twins who were often spoken of as "hot picks" as they came through the juniors.

Good luck to Archie

  • PREVIEW: North Melbourne

Can you believe it? After a long period of years over which Melbourne has dominated in matches against North Melbourne, the Demons are looking down the barrel at two defeats at the hands of the Kangaroos in the same season. And if that eventuates, it will come hot on the heels of an identical result against the Gold Coast Suns. How have the might fallen? There is a slight difference in that North Melbourne are not yet in the same place as Gold Coast. Like Melbourne, they are currently situated in the lower half of the ladder and though they did achieve a significant upset when the teams met earlier in the season, their subsequent form has been equally unimpressive and inconsistent.

  • REPORT: Adelaide

The atmosphere at the Melbourne Football Club at the beginning of the season was aspirational following an injury-plagued year in 2024. Coach Simon Goodwin had lofty expectations with the return of key players, the anticipated improvement from a maturing group with a few years of experience under their belts, and some exceptional young talent also joining the ranks. All of that went by the wayside as the team failed to click into action early on. It rallied briefly with a new strategy but has fallen again with five more  consecutive defeats.
