Tom Morris just said on SEN that either the Crows or Suns can and would absorb Tracs contract.

wow, that would be enormous

it's why i think a player (e.g. pedlar, fioroni) plus a 2025 1st round and 2026 1st round is probably our best bet

getting his entire contract off the books is a win in and of itself

That's huge news if true.

If they absorb his contract they might then allow their lesser contracted players to move on and free up space for trac

you're the links master! Tom Morris posted a short video update on Trac via SEN about 10 minutes ago! maybe you can find it and post it?

Because you asked so kindly...

I've been saying this. His contract is not an issue.

I put something up like this a while ago. It makes a lot of sense as GC need points, Adelaide need missing pieces and we need Picks and a Trac replacement. It works and 6+flanders is a good return on Trac. Id hold onto 23 though. We are overpaying on that one.

It’s the dream scenario for Trac to want to go to the Suns and Flanders the other way.

Should we be able to get enough points value in what we receive for McVee and spargo we might be able to snare one of their later first round picks too.

Everyone talks about Trac's contract, but it's 2025. $1.3mil is not a big deal anymore. When Flanders is being offered $900k, it shows you where the salaries of established stars is heading.

Both Adelaide and GC would comfortably be able to spread out his wage, especially if as I suspect they extend his existing deal and spread the wage out over more years.

Interesting how the narrative ( afl media ) has jumped straight over "IF" ... to "WHICH" ..+ who for !!

Things are picking up pace down this Tracc.....

On SEN, Trac decided Sunday and with the club's permission, to visit Adelaide and test the market. That's all it is atm, but it did slip that Trac has had a chat with Hardwick at Gold Coast.

The subtle MFC message, and from Gary Lyon, is that he will cost you, or to quote Gaz, "Pony Up". The message is that MFC want a player in the deal, and if the deal doesn't suit, Trac stays where he is. I have heard 3rd hand that Trac won't go to Adelaide, but may look good in a Suns jumper. It is no surprise that GC states that Humphrey is not negotiable so I guess we know who Melbourne wants, and of course, Flanders may be more gettable.

In the words of Sun Tsu, be patient, always hold the high ground and do not compromise

"The expert at getting the enemy to make his move shows himself and the enemy is certain to follow. In doing so he moves the enemy, and lies in wait for him with his full force"

Trac, go get us a Josh Kennedy.

From Paul Guerra's first official Newsletter - 30/9/2025

"No doubt many of you would have heard Christian Petracca’s name mentioned in recent days. As a footy club we couldn’t be more excited and confident in where our AFL program is headed. We know our future success will be built on people and players who are fully committed to where we are heading.

We met with Christian late last week where he expressed his desire to explore a fresh start in 2026. Christian is contracted for a further four years and is a once in a generation player. With this in mind, any decision regarding Christian’s future will be made in the best interest of the Melbourne Football Club."

For those still 'hoping' - that'd be an official endorsement of farewell...

Goodbye CP5 and thanks for the memories, and getting the best out of yourself.

Yep, definitely Trac who wanted out more than us wanting him out… but I think the club is just as over it as us supporters are.

I did like that. Is in line with one of the reasons Buckley didn't get the job, he couldn't commit when asked so as of that point in time he was no chance. Is how all the players should be, be 100% committed or #### off.

Can and would...not have and will

A lot of reality checks incoming

You can be a star player, and also not a very team oriented one.

Thanks for 2021, we could not have done it without you, but we can certainly carry on into the future without you.

To reinterpret Gaz... either get on the Pony or Bugger off.

No probs with that. Easy for synergy to be derailed .... as anyone watching may have noticed.

I don’t even think that’s a drive by. I think that’s a hit, put it in reverse and back over it, and then drive over the body one more time to send a message.

I think Paul Guerra might have a touch of the Tony Soprano management style.

At least the club is being transparent. Great start by Guerra. Gone are the days of Roffey and Pert, a collective disgrace who were just interested in themselves and their own egos (especially the former who no doubt wouldn't have stepped foot near a Dees game since departing).

Also says a lot about Petracca. Demanded changes last year which were all acted on. He carries on like a spoilt brat and now demands out. Best outcome for the Brand to go. Send him wherever suits us, not him. He can learn a few lessons in life from humble people like Bont.

Love it, that's what i want to hear from my club.

Petracca wants to leave, so its on him to get us the deal we want, not sure he's got the manager for that.

🤔Can someone check if the #5 locker has had its lock changed overnight !!🙄
