PF   please be known, I once upon a time many years ago knew Dave Kelly, a nice enough bloke to know. No idea how good or bad as a footballer.  Very tall bloke but I never saw him play football or get angry.  Good enough to get on the list, so far beyond my dreams, but maybe did not get angry on the field.  (around 1985 ?)

This is our year, grab it by the throught.

I’m standing in front of “this year” ready to grab it - but I can’t find its “throught”. Help me please.

Spelling never was my go, arithmetic and number logical progression now that’s a piece of [censored], or was.

Was it a missing Ay?

This heat is far too hot too play football.
methinks started too early

To grab by the throught: Is to grab another's thought before it exits his throat.

There looks to be some positive signs around Adams this pre season is he a round 1 chance?

Adams' apples?

p.s. Yep. Though leads to discussion about whose place he takes...

😊 Had a boss who said 'exackery'. A very absorbable word. Got me.

While they're all at you, 640, forgive me for looking forward to later in the season, when the heat becomes colder.

Is that your boot I feel as we see myself out?

People, like me, who use it have heard the Ed Zachary disease joke.

I don’t but I expect a long detailed report from @Roost it far

Not me. I'll look it up! (I think I can guess its tenor, knowing my boss...)

Yep; I was right, @M_9

I may delete it from my vocab now...😄

The club hasn't posted any info about training times this week.

https://www.melbournefc.com.au/teams/training-times

 My guess

Sunday the 16th March, we play. So, a Captain's run the day before, Saturday at Gosch's, probably starting around 9.30 am. Main training at Casey on Thursday 13th, 10.00 am. Recovery run, Tuesday 11th, at Gosch's 9.30 am.

Pull your head in junior. I’ll damn well report when I can, not before. You got it?

About time you pulled your texts back Roost it.

I am going the nice crow ( following a warning) but still on the search for crazy and lazy posts that are of no sense.if they appear.

Is there really a spot for Langford in the AFL side ? If we run with JVR Disco and Johnson, can’t really have another big 192 cm player plonked in the forward line, he would have to be getting midfield minutes. Curious to see how this plays out through the season

AJ appears to have done more than Disco in the pre Season. Reckon he gets the nod

Great point re: Turner capable of playing back.

As Hawthorn have shown with Sicily, versatility in-game is key and the likes of Petty and Disco can be switched either end in game.

yes i can imagine if both are down an immediate swap could take place. sometimes Petty takes the ruckman though which Turner might struggle with.

I think Turner and Jefferson have to use their wheels more as both have some pace.

Kolt Milky Judd running laps

Never seen them so fast!

Apologies in advance @Roost it far she had to leave at halftime. But she rang me from her car and said what she saw today would make any Dees fan very excited. Normally levelheaded and staid, she was so excited she took a wrong exit off the highway. THAT’S how excited we should be 😅

She said at halftime the teams split up into two teams each and played against each other (half a side vs half a side).

Petty in both teams???  How did he manage that?

This is what happens when a ghostwriter uses a ghostwriter. Or…

Petts did play in both, one in defence and one up forward. 😝

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Gold Coast

On Friday, the Demons return to our Casey Fields fortress where they have a 77% win rate. The scent of September is in the air and the struggling Suns are on the horizon. The Cranbourne weather forecast? Ominous, like the match itself: a strong chance of carnage. Let’s be honest, last week’s first half against the West Coast was a training drill but we dropped our guard in the final quarter. While this match is a mismatch on paper — second versus seventeenth — football is won in the wind, the contests, and the moments.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #32 Tom Sparrow

The rugged Sparrow’s career appears to have plateaued in recent years. He makes the side on a week to week basis but he is unable to establish a foothold in the team’s midfield and arguably performs best outside of the contest in a forward position without being a goal kicker. He remains a good honest foot soldier but is not a star.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #33 Tom Fullarton

Fullarton managed a couple of games in the first half of the season but soon found himself back in the VFL. There, he found a niche at centre half back but it was not enough to retain a place on the list at season’s end.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #35 Harrison Petty

Entering 2025, it looked as if Petty would be secured in a defensive position, but plans shifted and he spent more time forward, averaging just over a goal per game throughout the season. It remains uncertain which area of the ground he will be expected to cover under the new coaching regime.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #36 Kysaiah Pickett

The dynamic small forward, possessing an innate ability to generate excitement with his explosive play around the goals, successfully transitioned into a role that afforded him more time in the midfield. The club also negotiated a long-term deal with Pickett, thereby eliminating any prospect of a move west by their star young player.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #37 Kade Chandler

For a few years now, he has been a reliable, hard working pressure forward, but in 2025, Chandler elevated his performance, becoming an integral component of the team with enough versatility to play effectively on a wing from time to time.
