Has the AFL ever made the logical decision at the time it’s most indicated/needed/deserved? They always hang onto it for a while (season or two), before then making the blindly obvious change. Mind-numbingly frustrating.

Their rules can be bent, stretched, and waived at any time. Adelaide just got permission to replace Strachan who easily could be back before the end of the year (not to undermine the difficultly of a navicular in to a heel stress fracture). And they got to hold the announcement from Friday to Monday for the vibes.

But their favourite certainly is reviewing rules over a painstaking period of time until they get a good result and then either overreacting or creating further grey areas.

We are going to be allowed to replace Andy. Fantastic news. Could it be Roy George?

What’s your vibe?

So the clubs are adopting my suggestion/proposal.

As I said, it is totally unfair for some clubs to be playing their match sims after the SSP period closed, while others played earlier.

All clubs should be treated the same and all play earlier or later.

I think all clubs have now played their match sims, so what is so bad with extending the SSP to say Tuesday, 4 days longer.

As I said.

Heart wants George,

Gut says Culley,

Head says JT is known for plucking obscure targets he's previously wanted to draft.

I have been pushing for Roy for a few months now, but feel it will be Culley ,with more versatility and the fact that Roy will hopefully be there in the msd at our pick.

I just think George has the most upside. For mine it comes down to his attitude and his desire to make it. Will he work to get the very best out of himself. If the answer is yes then I'd pick him. You know what you're getting with Culley.

Terrible news. These bloody practice matches!

Oh by the way does anyone know if Walking Civil War is still on our forum? I for one miss her informative contributions.

If ever the AFL needed motivation to alter their list supplement policy, it’s now

As none of you have done so yet, I’ll take the credit. Thanks AFL.

Oh this is interesting. Seemed like Culley was odds on until Henderson got home like Kingston Town.

Do they see Culley as completely different - taller, more of a pure midfielder, not an ANB replacement - or do they class Henderson as a midfielder and lean towards a different kind of player entirely?

Be a bit of a sliding doors moment if we replace someone on a list who has unfortunately just done their ACL with someone coming back from an ACL. Will be an interesting list management decision. Or do we go Roy as a part of operation keep Kossie at Melbourne.

So last year!

Forget WalkingCivilWar have a look at Ghostwriter!

Thanks Redleg and DannyZ, this is a great decision based on fairness for all teams and common sense. What a terrible week we have had losing two players with season ending injuries when they were both on the verge of claiming a spot. I am happy with Jack Henderson and will trust JT to find the best option for Dees.👏👍😁

She has morphed into Ghostwriter.

PS: Sorry ManDee just saw your post.

👆It's confirmed then. @Webber is an 'internet influencer'.

So Zero Hanger reporting we've signed Jai Culley.

So we get Jai Culley.

With all respect and sympathy for Jagga Smith, thank god a Carton player was injured.

I’m nominating myself, having stated that as Carlton was involved, it would work in our favour. 🤣

It will be interesting to see how Roy goes at Casey, as we may have a spot at msd time and he appears to be at the head of the line atm.

Do we only have a list spot at the MSD if someone gets moved to the long term injury list or retires?

I believe that is the case.

Remembering that we need enough places at the end of the year, for any returning players to the active list, like AMW and McAdam and also at least 3 spots for new people on the list, being drafted or traded.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.
