Anybody willing to give this ageing queen a rundown on how Oliver is going? I’m really wanting him to stick it far up some people this year

Clarry just did the most superb candy-sell on the run right in front of me, then dished off a perfect handball. My heart sang. He’s back, baby!

Umps let play for a minute after the 3 minutes ended?

What was the plus 3 minutes thing? For those not watching.

Campbell is definitely holding his own in the ruck. His experience and size will make him a very worthwhile acquisition

Jack Billings looks in good touch too. He’s a whipping boy on here but he looks more sleek and has used the ball well including kicking a snag.

Langfords gonna be a forkin' Thoopa Star.
There .... I said it.

Did he look confident kicking the goal? Last year I reckon it was too much in his head and put too much pressure on himself. When he was doing setshots in particular you could see how nervous he looked and didn't want to kick it and more times than not missed, and missed easy goals.

Taj Woewodin has been impressive as well on the wing.

Consider our keys not playing, and the horrible wind, that was a very good half. The old guard who are out there are doing their thing….Petty and Lever dominant, AMW very good (he takes Knuckles spot for mine), Jed Adams v good (lovely left foot), Bowey and Howes same. Kozzy, Clarrie and Riv carrying the very undermanned midfield. Langford getting lots, and using well, same XL, fabulous left foot included (great signs that they’re totally comfortable). Taj, Billings, Sparrow and Sharp doing well. Roo, Jeffo and Disco all working hard (wind is killing forward 50 marks) to create options and contests. Oh, and what a relief to have Tom Campbell this year for Max relief, he’s just plug n play competitive, and making Xerri v grumpy.

Agree with the set shots last year. His goal was a snap from the pocket.

Laurie looks like he finally has some size in his legs and torso

He might surprise a few this year

Benny Brown picking up the commentator saying Jared Rivers rather than Trent Rivers was gold 😂

Thanks for the updates!

Anyone know if there’s a site posting the stats?

Ben Brown as a commentator. Early days and learning his craft. Perhaps the new Kelli Underwood. !!!

I hope not for his sake.

So turns out people meltdown in match simulation threads as well….

Fans have to get match fit too

Simulation meltdowns

North got the rub if the first half but wow that’s a decision. Save those for round 1

Kayo are counting a goal scored by North during a scenario training where we were 8 points up and had to defend. Technically the score is  54-36 I think

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

When looking back at the disastrous end to the game, I find it a waste of time to concentrate on the final few moments when utter confusion reigned. Forget the 6-6-6 mess, the failure to mark the most dangerous man on the field, the inability to seal the game when opportunities presented themselves to Clayton Oliver, Harry Petty and Charlie Spargo, the vision of match winning players of recent weeks in Kozzy Pickett and Jake Melksham spending helpless minutes on the interchange bench and the powerlessness of seizing the opportunity to slow the tempo of the game down in those final moments.

  • CASEY: Sandringham

The Casey Demons rebounded from a sluggish start to manufacture a decisive win against Sandringham in the final showdown, culminating a quarter century of intense rivalry between the fluctuating alignments of teams affiliated with AFL clubs Melbourne and St Kilda, as the Saints and the Zebras prepare to forge independent paths in 2026. After conceding three of the first four goals of the match, the Demons went on a goal kicking rampage instigated by the winning ruck combination of Tom Campbell with 26 hitouts, 26 disposals and 13 clearances and his apprentice Will Verrall who contributed 20 hitouts. This gave first use of the ball to the likes of Jack Billings, Bayley Laurie, Riley Bonner and Koltyn Tholstrup who was impressive early. By the first break they had added seven goals and took a strong grip on the game. The Demons were well served up forward early by Mitch Hardie and, as the game progressed, Harry Sharp proved a menace with a five goal performance. Emerging young forwards Matthew Jefferson and Luker Kentfield kicked two each but the former let himself down with some poor kicking for goal.
Young draft talent Will Duursma showed the depth of his talent and looks well out of reach for Melbourne this year. Kalani White was used sparingly and had a brief but uneventful stint in the ruck.

  • PREGAME: West Coast

The Demons return to the scene of the crime on Saturday to face the wooden spooners the Eagles at the Docklands. Who comes in and who goes out? Like moving deck chairs on the Titanic.

It's Game Day and there are only 5 games to go. Can the Demons find some consistency and form as they stagger towards the finish line of another uninspiring season?
