The players from both clubs are all mates, hell our potential captain in waiting last year wanted to join them, even after their captain put him in hospital

I found that game pretty strange. I thought from the get go that they would seek blood for what happened to Gus. Their mates career and future health was so unceremoniously upended by that thug.

Alas Tracca was out their shaking hands and smiling. I would have thought I'd see a face off like Fury and that Ukrainian fighter .

But there was no bite amongst them. Looking back, I guess if they didn't fire up when Gus went down ( your excused JV) then there was no reason to believe they would on the day you mention. Silly me. I feel sorry for Gus. Not just the playing career ended but .....gee where are my mates?

That sounds harsh but there's a little bit of truth there. I wonder if it's a case of not wanting to burn players from a possible future club change. Keep ones options open.

Certainly, Maynard doesn't suffer from this.

But of they couldn't show some biff against the pies after that, then there's fat chance they'll give it to other teams.

Unless of course and I suspect it may be true that a lot of our players are scared of a lot of the cwood players.

I would be. They get let off for a lot.

I was just watching the replay of this year’s  Kings BD match.

Collingwood supporters were booing May throughout, because of his completely accurate comments at the B and F function.

What gross hypocrisy!!!!
Imagine how they would behave if, say, Maynard and Moore played for us, and pole-axed N Daicos and Pendlebury.

The Brayshaw  thuggery not only robbed us of one of best players forever, but compromised the club grossly financially. The Moore ? accident not only gravely injured Trac, but left him with ( thankfully temporary) psychological problems which disrupted the whole club.

I reckon we are more justified in booing them!

On one hand you are right but when you have been one clubs bunnies for 25 years you need to make a point of making a stand against that club in particular. The rest will flow, you can't be physical and ruthless in every game if you can't do it in one game.

Well we've got 10 or so rounds to focus on our game plan and build those valuable selfless habits, should naturally flow into the QB game without giving it much thought into special efforts. Hopefully Neal and Bec Daniher come into the rooms again and get the boys fired up though, as you said, a little bit extra for this one game.

Btw Doc, are you into stoner/doom metal with that avatar of yours? Electric Wizard isn't it? I've been listening to doom metal a lot in the past few years and getting into some bands like bongripper, bell witch, ufomammut, ahab, high on fire and sleep of course lol

Maybe we can run out to:

Yep love me some doom metal, Electric Wizard one of my favourites especially thier early stuff Supercoven, Come My Fanatics, Dopethrone and Let Us Prey. Love Sleep as well but haven't listened to much of the others you mentioned. Have you heard Orange Goblin? They're a bit more bluesy/rock but their 2nd album Time Travellin' Blues is great

How we play against Collingwood is only important in relation to the 8 points that make up how we finish on the ladder. Spend any more time than the 2 weeks of opposition analysis on them, then we will simply be beaten by other clubs instead. They're one of 16 other clubs we have to worry about. They didn't win the flag, they're not the team to beat.

They’re always the team to beat, along with Carlton, Essendon and Hawthorn.

I feel a bit strange today….

One of my best and oldest mates, his Cousin just became the New Filth President….

We must beat them on a regular basis 😈👺👹👿

Goodwin is pretty clueless against the pies. They look like they know we will roll over. Its embarrassing.

Ain't it the bitter truth?

We stifled them in the KB game in 2023. They had nothing all day and we really should have been well up despite then almost running over us at the end, the issue is we never take our opportunities against them. Hit them hard and put the scoreboard pressure on and we'll be fine.

We might show a bit of mongrel towards them, too. Particularly if we get a few goals up, and now, do we think we have the human capital to so do? I reckon - in all sizes - we might jolt the Filth menacingly and in a very sustained manner - we owe them two or three 'accidents' at least, and another handful for the memories.

Ive not but I popped it on my drive home and that was pretty rockin', like old kyuss. My favourite track was Shine, I love an epic song with a long slow build up and an explosive 2nd half. Bands I mentioned are all kind of slow sludge doom mostly instrumental found on the https://www.reddit.com/r/doommetal/ sub. Although Mike Pikes High on Fire is very classic.  Bongripper's album Empty was my favorite this year. its brutal!!

Maybe when the lads train/play up in a suburban ground, you can pop on orange goblin on full blast from a classic old v8 holden to get them in the physical ruthless mood :laugh:

    TRAINING: Monday 16th December 2024

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
