Mcvee is a keeper and should move into more of a half back role next year to use his skill.

ANW returns and must be marked to play small lock down defender role

McVee will be a weapon if unleashed. As commented before we need him in whatever role we were trying to mould Windsor into in defence.

Bowza & McVee need to control our ball movement from defence.

That was exactly what was suppose to happen, unfortunately didn't and why there was no signing from McVee,I feel that even if he plays there now it might be to late, other clubs are looking for running hb's and McVee is who their looking at

The Jon Ralph grain of salt applies here:

“Judd McVee has to be kept, he doesn’t want to leave Victoria. His partner is an AFLW player and also plays for Melbourne. There’s Victorian clubs swirling, but they just need to keep him.”

Get over Judd, earmarked for a role and things change, he’s not bigger than the club, AMW went down with a season ending knee injury and there’s no one left to play a small lockdown role because we’re light in that area, so what are we supposed to do? Just let small forwards run rampant because Judd’s cracked the sads and doesn’t want to play that role? Mcvee wouldn’t even have a career if it weren’t for us, just sign a two year deal and get on with it, things can be different next season.

So your saying no one else can play it,what's wrong with say Salem

He’s way too slow (in AFL terms)

Great call, would love to see Salem chasing after Izak Rankine or Tom Papley all day could definitely keep up 👏

If he doesnt sign with us, he can enter the draft and be picked up by WC. Or we can trade him and get value. The other option is that he stays,

Interesting..

I think this was one of the major issues in moving Simon on.

Opportunities for the next wave of talent and they weren't going to happen under Simon.

Smart management that takes care of Juddy.

So we’re going to get 30 cents on the dollar for Oliver while paying half his wage and we are going to hoist ourselves on the McVee petard and lose him for nothing?

Great way to get back to our 2008-2013 list…

34 minutes ago, whatwhat say what said:

i see nothing to indicate that he can excel thru the midfield as he has excelled as a small defender, at least prior to 2025

So you don't see calm under pressure or pretty good decisions with hand and foot, really, and please don't judge him with 2 games in there with no training..it took Petracca,Viney and Oliver more than 2 games to be great

i dont think Judd is holding off for any other reason apart from getting back into some form from being injured and pushing for some more $$.

hes not going anywhere, and probably wanted to see where he sits in terms of playing position next year

This situation reminds me of the Cat's stuffing around Jordan Clark before he moved to Freo and exploded

What's Melb doing to stuff McVee around ?

Deal with him was agreed months ago

We gave him the 4 years he wanted

Everyone agreed and was happy

Absolutely no idea why his side hasn't signed and what has happened since

Turns out part of the deal was some time up the ground

Goody believed he didn’t perform their in training and reneged

Probably not salvageable at this point with both WA clubs lurking but I’d say the biggest priority for the new coach

way to miss the point @doomsday dee

he's potentially an elite small defender; they are more rare than mids

I think the Eagles might be into him for a 4 year deal. Not sure we will match their $$$s. Would be really disappointed to see him go after we took the punt on him and gave him the chance, and developed him. Obviously we would like to see him as part of our future.

Think Judd has a higher opinion of himself than is warranted, couldn’t care less if he leaves, good luck getting minutes as a mid at Freo 😂

You do know he doesn't want mid time

Track watchers reporting (again) that McVee isn't going anywhere.

As you say the grain of salt will be applied but if it's not home calling him then I'm confident we'll retain him. He's quality, his partner plays for our VFLW team. We plucked him from relative obscurity so I would hope a little bit of a nod at the faith we've shown in him would go a little way.

Yes, quite an interesting take by the marketing department - especially as our opposition call the kennel home. Slightly mixed imagery?

  • Thank You Simon Goodwin

As Demon fans, we’ve ridden a rollercoaster of emotions over the decades; the heartbreaks, the near misses, the wooden spoons, and the endless waiting. But through it all, we clung to hope. And then came Simon Goodwin. Before he ever wore red and blue, he was a champion in his own right. A five-time All-Australian, two-time Best and Fairest, and two-time premiership hero and Captain with Adelaide, Simon Goodwin was always destined to lead. When he transitioned from the field to the coach's box, first as an assistant at Essendon, he began shaping a new legacy.
