Hello Judd!

will be a mid 20’s pick no doubt, which is probably around his worth

If WC were interested in Judd, and Judd was interested in them, then there’s nothing stopping them from taking him to the PSD. And we sure as hell aren’t getting that pick 19 while they have the psd threat

Clubs very rarely go straight there. WC negotiate in good faith first and offer pick 19, Judd has a decision to make but probably still wants to go to Freo but now there's a real bid that Freo need to at least match, if they don't and Judd holds firm and so does MFC ... well there's the PSD and WC tried their best but were forced to go there.

Fans love to bring this up every time a player requests a trade. That’s just not how it works. When a player nominates a club you will be dealing with that club only. No matter what WC offer we won’t be dealing with them since Judd doesn’t want to go there. He’s not contracted to the club anymore so we can’t pick and choose.

I don't think you understood my post.

I wonder what Mitch Clark is up to these days

A attacking game style sounds great but what will happen if say a Cameron kicks 5 on Howes,Bowie or Salem, with a quarter to go,will be back to McVee🤔

The same thing happened with Jeremy Howe, wanted to play forward. Buckley and Collingwood sold him on being that forward at Collingwood and guess where he's played ever since they figured he wasn't the forward they needed.

He's been a back man for them and Roos was right all along.

No guarantee the same thing won't happen to McVee at Freo...Cameron kicks 5 and who is Longmuir going to move onto him.. just a tip, it's not going to be Clark.

They have Brandon Walker who locks down the smalls if they want to use him. And if they don’t we should be ringing up his manager ASAP

Clark got turned into an AA by the dockers. They’ve sold that same vision to Judd. And they have Bailey Banfield playing off half back so they sure have room for him to slot in. Actually off the top of my head I can’t think of any other running half backs they have aside from Clark.

Or the trade table at least. What's a future AA running HB worth?

Pick 11 sounds like a good start.

Good call.

An even better call was my posting while Clark was playing in the VFL for the Cats and before leaving was even mentioned, that we should go after him.

The exact same scenario happened for Bolton, Treacy and Meek existed when I also posted often about them.

I don’t write this to show that I am brilliant, which of course I am, but rather to highlight the disappointment I have, that we got none of them.

I don’t need the excuses about each player as I already know them, but the disappointment is still there anyway.

Apparently we never even tried to get any of them.

That is disappointing to me.

Given the players we have traded in in the same period, it is more disappointing.

Anyway here’s hoping we get a few good ones this off season.

Pick 11 sounds like a good start.

And a player rated in the top 10 players of those mentioned as possible trades this trade period.

Yes pick 11 is the start and maybe the finish too, or a player we all like and value, can go home but to WC.

History can be insightful. Howe was playing forward until injury (to defenders) forced him back which is where he has remained for his career apart from a few cameo's forward.

Turns out he's good at it.

Nothing is a given.

Hello Judd!

They'll use that to get Starcevich

Another rote form the AFL.

WCE ask for allowance outside of the rules to bring in FA Starcevich and not at the same time dilute the FA compo they are going to receive from loosing Allen. AFL say no, however how about we give you an end of first round pick and you can use that to trade for Stracevich, giving the premiers a pick in the first round instead on any FA compo pick???

DC depending on how the roulette wheel spins between 14 - 17 premiership heroes will remain on our list in 2026.

Shai Bolton? Not sure there was ever a time for us to make a move for him.

We were heavily linked to Meek when we lost Jackson got Grundy. Meek might’ve even been first choice.

A mega deal for Treacy after first few years would’ve been super gusty but turned out great. He signed a 3 year deal in 2023 indicating interest from someone, you’d hope one of those teams would’ve been us. Upped it to a 4 year extension in 2024 when he broke out tying him until 2030.

But hey, let’s go one better and hire David Walls as our head of footy. Freo do a great job improving their list year on year.

Meek should've been steak knives in the Jackson deal then. Hell even get Rory Lobb in that year and we probably make the gf in 2023.

  • NON-MFC: 2026 Opening Round

Finally the 2026 AFL Premiership Season is upon us. While Melbourne sits out Opening Round, there is still plenty of footy to enjoy with five non-MFC clashes to kick off the new season. It all begins on Thursday night with a blockbuster at the SCG as Sydney hosts Carlton in what should be a strong early test for both sides. On Friday night, Gold Coast gets its chance to open the season in front of a home crowd when the Suns and Christian Petracca take on Geelong at People First Stadium. Saturday features a double-header, starting in the afternoon with Greater Western Sydney and Clayton Oliver meeting the Hawks at Engie Stadium. That is followed on Saturday night by Brisbane Lions hosting the Western Bulldogs at the Gabba, with the Lions embarking on their campaign to win the Threepeat. Opening Round wraps up on Sunday night at the MCG, where St Kilda takes on Collingwood in the only game in town in the first week of the season. There is no shortage of storylines across the round, so discuss all the action from the non-MFC games of Opening Round.

With just over two weeks until their opening match of the 2026 AFL Premiership season, the Demons are already well on the path to redemption and have the Saints firmly in their sights ahead of their mid-March clash at the MCG. What do you think the team will look like when they run out on to the G?
