It would be nice to know what our cap space looks like moving forward.

Couple of retirements incoming.

In 2021 in close games (margin 12 or fewer points) we were 4-2 and a draw. When the margin was 7-12 it was 3-1.

Since then for games 1-6 margin we're 6-12 and for games with a margin 7-12 we're 5-7 (and all games under 13 points we're 11-19)

This year in the 2 goal or fewer points margin games we're 2-5. If I'm not mistaken we lost our last 3 of these games in '24 so that's 2-8 since midJune last year! I am so f****** sick of the close losses!

(The new format is infuriating! Somehow I clicked on the wrong link....again)

I do hope Melk and TMac get offered another year. On the list I think there are 6 delistings from this year and only 3 draft picks. 3 off the list is the minimum and maybe we can get 3, 24-28 y.o. good players to join for next to nothing.

Thanks R&BF

iirc a 'R' FA is in the top 10% player payments. Not sure all those 'R' are so should they choose to go we can't match the offer. Of course rules may have changed.

btw, is Fritsch 31yo?

He's turning 29 in December.
Contract expires end of next season, so will be 30 in December 2026. Think that is what is meant to say.

Commentators for the Casey v Box Hill Hawks game made 2 references to Campbell having been given a 1 year extension........shheesh! surely we can find someone younger who won't play a senior game.

I think offering a mature 'in case of emergency' ruck a cheap 1 year extension is relatively low on the list of issues at the Dees at the moment to be honest.

From what I can find RFA is top 25% of payments, although I think I had a couple wrong here and they should have been UFA Thanks :)

I have added players who are delisted Free agents as their own category, I think I have them all, but if anyone notices anyone incorrectly labeled, just let me know

Also yeah I had Fritsch one year too old.

can we keep this thread as an absolute bible and only update it on official MFC reports and not heresay and speculation? has been no word from MFC regarding a contract extension, the commentators hearing a rumour could just be coz they read demonland pre game to find out some words to sprout

Fair Call.

Un-updated Campbell again until conformation from MFC

Probably shows the club have now lost faith in Verrall of they're wanting to keep Campbell for another year.

Agree DZ, I’m bullish on AWM and especially Culley.

Haven’t seen much of Mentha as of yet but fingers crossed. Small nippy forward is a definite need.

A very good start to the Off Season IMO.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.
