One potential exchange is

Lions give Harry Sharp and pick 32 (584 points)

Dees give picks 40,49, 54, 65 (1041 points)

*Brisbane get additional 457 points

*Dees then have 5,28,32 in draft …

Yes? No? Maybe?

Nb …Equivalent points match for picks 49,54,65 is roughly pick 32. Dees giving up 40 for Sharp.  ?!?!?! But actually it’s more like MFC giving up 49 because Lions would only give up pick 32 for picks that deliver much “higher points” in exchange.

🤔Dees also could exchange MFC 2025 future 1st for 2024 GC Pick 13 to get Four picks in first “32” … JT 🧙‍♀️

We might need to have a late pick for Noah Yze.

Personally don't think he gets picked up.

To be honest, I would like to think we don't get sucked in by the Yze name because talent wise, he's either a late rookie or he goes undrafted.

He didn't get any invite to the national or state combines which speaks volume as you at least need one AFL club to register an interest which he didn't.

He was tried in a few positions this year with little success in any.

Not sounding great for him at this stage.

Norf targeting Essendon's pick 9 according to the Age

Also suggestion a bid highly likely to come from Melbourne (5), Richmond (6 via Rioli), or Saints (7 & 8) for Kako

Do they say how North are planning to do this?

F1

Reported Nth after Dons pick9. We may have to chase GC's pick 13. They will want a future 1st and picks in this draft.

We should take pick 5 to the draft. There may be a couple of KP's available around 13?

Mids mids mids

It looks a race in two between the Pies and Demons, who have thrown big pick offers at a number of clubs in the hope to land another first-rounder in 2024. Gold Coast's call will be trade period-shaping one given the impact on Houston.

The issue for Bombers is that Kanga’s future pick, whilst appealing, does nothing to help them match Kako bid in first round.

Saints keen, a new favourite emerges?

Also, Hawks now looking to trade into pick 13...after trading away pick 14?

Of course it does, it doesn’t absorb their 1st pick and they can use later picks

Wowzers, that's a good deal for us if we can make a good fist of it next year.

Cheers Bombers.

Tim Lamb strikes again. Demonland nuffies 0, Lamb 1. 🤦

Given it’s looking more likely than not that we’ll have first round father son in K White next year trading out for good return this year is genius…

Good deal for us to get pick 9. Dons get more than enough to get the discounted Kako.

We get a good mid at 5 and maybe a KP at 9?

White next year probably a 2nd or 3rd round bid?

We probably agreed not to bid on Kako with either 5 or 9 too, that's a big bonus for Essendon.

Twomey suggests further action by us. A swap with North. Picks 5 and 9 for pick 2 and 25 plus maybe 44 or the future 2nd?

Hope not i would rather go 5 and 9.

Could we slide back? 5 for Saints 8 and 27 or something to that effect

Pick 5 & 9 puts us in the box seat for a couple of champions, thanks Mr Lamb, reckon JT will be ecstatic if this comes off.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.

  • POSTGAME: North Melbourne

The Demons are finally back at the MCG and finally back on the winners list as they continually chipped away at a spirited Kangaroos side eventually breaking their backs and opening the floodgates to run out winners by 6 goals.
