Amazing what an academy and father on picks get you !!!

Still smart recruiting. No second rate scrubbers.  Neale. Cameron. Daniher. Dunkley.  Take note !!!

Copied us - May. Lever. Langdon. Brown. Hibberd.

Great to see players win a flag that walked out on the Bombers

Must burn their fans.

Daniher is a fantastic player. He draws 2-3 defenders

It's a lesson for everyone.

the umpires get a medal for being the ones selected to do their job.  ok

Couple of them should hand them back 🤔

Too bad they couldn’t beat the Lions 🤪

Maybe they wanted to be runner up again? They had a proud history of finishing 2nd until port let the cats out of the bag in 2007.

His lowest amount of touches since round 24 last year versus us.

14 disposals and 5 turnovers.

Dunkley is a quality player and individual - didn’t let him go anywhere alone (pretty sure he accompanied him in at halftime)

Apparently he was injured…

Yes I thought Dunkley might have won the Norm Smith.  Negates Heeney completely and gets 21 possessions and 11 tackles.  Clearly a key reason for the Lions dominance today.

Great to c Fags get a flag. Well done old fella and well deserved.

Sound like a true clubman

Sydney getting belted again on Grand Final day... very much looking forward to my normally nauseating daily morning "standup" at work being a nice final twist of the knife towards my pompous Sydney colleagues who talked a big game all year. Went to the SCG for the first time ever this year... such a fake crowd. I reckon 50% of the crowd were freebies tickets and "it" girls/marketing babes who get their Insta snap and then spend the rest of the game chatting and refilling bubblies. Definitely the Hollywood Lakers of the AFL.

....Fages?

Can't eat value.

Didn't lay off. Regretted it 10 minutes into the game.

Luckily had a saver on the lions to win by +39 @ 7.50 which at least meant i didn't lose.

…………….gamble responsibly

Lions going to get a massive leg up with another Ashcroft. Seriously flawed system allowing them to build an a-grade midfield while playing finals. They will be contending for the next 10 years.

Coleman to return next year, Wilmont, Fletcher another year fitter. [censored]

Daniher gone (?), Neale, Zorko and Andrews another year older. They’ve gone close many times and failed.
It’s been a long while since we’ve had back to back premiers, because backing up has never been harder in a season so long and so demanding.

Two life lessons from Joe Daniher.

1. It is always a good idea to walk out on the Bombers.

2. It is amazing how quickly you can turn things around when you decide to pull your finger out!

Did any swans players beat their direct opponent today?

Mills didn't even break even with McInerney.

Unironically yes! I reckon the Big O got a lot of new fans today. Best sort of guy to have at a club. Seems legitimately selfless

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
