I am finding this granny to be one of the hardest to pick a winner.

Yep & for the first time in years I'm not bothered who wins.

But it's going to be close I hope.

As I've stated before, whichever coach loses I'll feel for. For fagan to lose 2 in a row will be so shattering for him.

How goods the weather though?

And thank goodness we'll have a new premiership winner tomorrow so I know longer have to hear Collingwood are reigning premiers

Not surprised at this. I understand he lives in Byron Bay. Long commute to work

Wowsers. I’m currently in Kirra/Coolangatta and am amazed at the traffic and amount of time it takes to go from one end of the Gold Coast to the other, let alone from Byron to Brissie. Not sure of his family / partner situation but if you’re earning good coin and will do for only a few more years, suck it up and live closer by.

Want the Swannies to win, but am afraid the Lions will get up by a 4 goals-ish :-/

Happy grand final day!

Greatest day ever on the sporting calendar.

Brisbane by 3 and Hugh McLugguge for the Normie.

Got in the queue at 6;40am,  Could have gotten here at 8:24 and got the seat next to me 😂

Grand final day just love it. Getting to the G it's my favourite day along with the boxing day test.

Weekend already off to a great start with the storm getting through to the NRL gf last night.

Hoping for a cracker of a game today

I always envy the supporters of the two grand final teams that get to experience the whole lot. As I get older the more I crave to experience this with my fellow demon family. Hopefully those who haven’t experienced any of it get to soon! I was only about 6 in 2000 so I don’t really remember too much(thank god)

Anyway, the weather is a beauty! Enjoy your day everyone!

Where is your seat (approx)? I was successful in the ballot, seat is Level 4 on the wing ... row W. There will be seats available to MCC restricted members. Update:  MCC FB page .... seats went onsale at 9.40 am!!

I think I'll stay in the bar (Percy Beames) while some singer is 'performing' (aka miming). FWIW there's a rumour that an Aussie will join that singer for a song ... tip is that it's tiny Tina Arena.

Grand Final day brings a special feeling with it. Better than Xmas say, Boxing Day, Cup day by a stretch.

Love seeing people around town in their colours, every big footy fan deserves a chance to experience this.

I've never been to one, was hoping to save it for when we made one again but am tempted to check the restricted members offering.

Should be a hell of a game watch, I won't be barracking for anyone just enjoying it. If I absolutely have to tip then om saying Swans by 7 and Papley Norm.

Margin ticket says 27 so wanting that. Prefer Swans as Lions fans at the Gabba are mostly wankers. John Denver FFS.

Sydney by 28

McCluggage first goal (paying $41)

Some random no name like Melican to win the Norm Smith.

Daniher to kick the last goal of the game after going 0.4.

In the city now, just seeing everyone in there supporter gear makes me jealous, but then I think if it's Melbourne I'd be a nervous wreck.

Just read an article in JJ and how he grew up barracking for the swans & lived near the coach. Good on him if he could fulfil his dream today. At least he'll start on the ground

Soz, went to the gym, thought I’d be productive

second row level 3 in front of FGS

Expect a cracking game until the 3rd qtr then Swans to get on a run and end up winning by 50+

Phil Davis convinced me of this when talking about GWS in 2019 and how when the game gets a little bit away the winning side seem to go hell for leather with everyone trying to win a Norm Smith.

And the GWS run to the GF was eerily similar to Brisbanes…

I wonder what the level of interest is in this game interstate. I suspect if you dig a little that it's not great.

Similarly the level of interest in Melbourne in the Storm is abysmal.

The GF really needs to go on the road occasionally. (One in every three years would be fine)

The Demon stalwart surpassed the number of his father's appearances for the club towards the end of the season. As he approaches his thirties, his pace is inevitably slowing, and he is likely to explore alternative opportunities beyond the team's midfield.

The Demon premiership defender who has the reputation the master of intercept possessions as well as great leadership qualities managed only eight senior games this season as he battled injury and form, prompting speculation that he might be enticed to look elsewhere.

“Disco” took his time (four seasons) but the mid-season draftee has been a shining light of Melbourne's campaign, improving to become a versatile option at either end of the ground. He has great marking skills which allows him to play as a marking target up forward or an intercepting defender down back.

The skipper delivered another outstanding season, leading the team from the front, participating in every game, and earning club champion honours, while also securing an equal record eighth All-Australian blazer as a ruckman.  Max Gawn is arguably the greatest exponent of ruck skills in the history of the game; an exceptional leader who has guided the club to a premiership, through the challenging times that followed, and now into the next phase of its storied history.

It was a frustrating season for the former number 13 draft selection, who failed to build momentum in his second campaign; Tholstrup played only nine games, having been omitted twice and substituted out three times. However, he demonstrated promising signs in the midfield at Casey towards the end of the season, and big things are anticipated from him in the coming years.

All at Melbourne are eagerly anticipating his resurgence to his previous peak performance levels.
