Enjoyed his work at the Dees and he'd certainly have played more games if it wasn't for Maxy's dominance.

Where did you find his weight? I thought they didn't publish that info anymore.

Was listed at 118kg in 2023. Much bigger now

Not really thst good

I thought that as a ruckman he was quite good, and as a forward he is a man mountain. I don't know what he's like as a bloke, and what he's like at training, but he certainly has had a lot of bad luck with injuries. I still think he'd be worth a go so long as he didn't have huge expectations of being in the first every week.

Max always liked him

Max likes everyone - although, we've never met.  😔

I'd recruit him for one purpose.  To run through Brayden Maynard and then fall on his prone body with a diving elbow drop then a body slam ala WWE.  Then he could retire with immediate effect.

I'd pay good money to see that.

Worth another go, a long way in front of Fullerton and Verrall.

That would not be hard bluey.

Didn’t realise he was still on an AFL list. He’s been lucky to avoid the chop this long.

10 year afl career for 23 games across 3 clubs

He gained too much weight

Everyone on this site has been saying that we need a backup for Max who can play a bit forward and is prepared to spend time in the reserves. Isn't Preuss ideal?

His body isn’t right, constantly injured. So no, far from ideal.

Mate he simply cannot stay on the field

He is either injured or suspended

I always liked big Preussy!

Would love to see him squash Brayden Maynard into the dirt!

Unfortunately, I don't think he could take an overhead mark?!

Plus he was always injured.

Would prefer him over Tom Campbell though.

Who else thought we'd struck gold after that first quarter?

  • REPORT: West Coast

On a night of counting, Melbourne captain Max Gawn made sure that his contribution counted. He was at his best and superb in the the ruck from the very start of the election night game against the West Coast Eagles at Optus Stadium, but after watching his dominance of the first quarter and a half of the clash evaporate into nothing as the Eagles booted four goals in the last ten minutes of the opening half, he turned the game on its head, with a ruckman’s masterclass in the second half.  No superlatives would be sufficient to describe the enormity of the skipper’s performance starting with his 47 hit outs, a career-high 35 possessions (22 of them contested), nine clearances, 12 score involvements and, after messing up an attempt or two, finally capping off one of the greatest rucking performances of all time, with a goal of own in the final quarter not long after he delivered a right angled pass into the arms of Daniel Turner who also goaled from a pocket (will we ever know if the pass is what was intended). That was enough to overturn a 12 point deficit after the Eagles scored the first goal of the second half into a 29 point lead at the last break and a winning final quarter (at last) for the Demons who decided not to rest their champion ruckman at the end this time around.

Following a disastrous 0–5 start to the season, the Demons have now made it three wins in a row, cruising past a lacklustre West Coast side on their own turf. Skipper Max Gawn was once again at his dominant best, delivering another ruck masterclass to lead the way.
