Last Thursday i paid the MCC/MFC dual Membership for next year.
It’s not cheap and with all the madness circling at the moment, i certainly thought about it for a while, but i pressed the “Pay Now” Button as i always do. $1,114.00

I am just wondering who else on here has done the same, are Members going to stick by us next year or will they keep the wallet closed

Roffey didn’t inspire me at all during the week, i heard the spiel live on air and once again later. Very underwhelming

The next 2-3 weeks are going to be pivotal for the club i believe. I hope the Members stick together (with a caveat!)

Did it the day I got the email. Mind you I am rusted on, but if Mr 5yos 2 favourite players in trak and kozzie leave itll be very difficult to drag him to games

I renewed mcc without mfc

Anyone not renewing because they’re unhappy with board or management or a particular player is weak as [censored].

Financial reasons I can understand (although I would suggest downgrading to cheaper options rather than cancelling) but punishing the club as a [censored] protest against any individual(s) is childish and self-defeating.

I’m weighing it up at the moment. Financially we are cash strapped, being in NSW means the likelihood of actually being able to attend games is not great, and lastly, my health has me in a position where, frankly, I may not last a full season let alone be in a state to get to games.

Is this the first time you have dropped the Club?

Sometimes it can be a great catalyst for change

If all this was happening to a rival club, we would all be laughing and celebrating their incompetence.

Write them an email, send them a lette, start a petition, mount a board challenge (just don’t take the club to court ffs). Do what you like but costing the club financially is counterproductive and will not result in greater success in any way.

Yes. So what? Should I laugh and celebrate my own clubs troubles?

No of course not. I just hope the Club now understand the damage they have caused.

Best of luck HT. As I said above I don’t begrudge anyone who has to make choices to balance the books. No shame in downgrading to an armchair/3-game membership either though if you can stretch things to that.

I’m certain they know things aren’t great. But every member we get proves our value to sponsors, and provides weight when talking to the afl about fixturing and all other matters.

Missing finals will already have an impact but those of us than can afford to stick fat should do so for the longer term good of the club.

im here forever

Keep up the good fight mate...my thoughts are with you.

I agree.
But the Club has got to run itself properly.

I don’t think it has done that at all well for at least 2 years

6 of our original 7 are keeping our premium memberships, unfortunately 1 has fallen out of love with AFL/ Umpiring/ Press and to an extent our club over the past two years.

Not going to leap to their defence, but I’d suggest if you want to give them a piece of your mind get down to the AGM and give em hell.

Cancelling the membership is a very indirect and ineffective way to communicate a specific grievance with how the club is run but very effective at harming the club.

I’ve paid up, so that is not the issue

At the moment I’m considering renewing just my son’s membership. At least we’ll still be supporting the club financially and I’m a rusted on supporter regardless.

This year I had to cancel due to financial struggles.

Next year I am returning on a 3 game membership because finances are still not that great.

Hoping by 2026 I can return to my red legs reserved seat membership.

Don't hurt the club. Call out those individuals that are hurting the club.

My love for the club took a massive hit after 4 straight finals losses at the MCG after watching a premiership under house arrest following decades of pain.

I haven't given up on the club but what has transpired over the past 12 months has seen me fall out of love with the Melbourne Football Club. You simply can't defend the club anymore. Last year's Semi final broke me and this year has angered me.

I will wait to see what happens with Petracca and over trade period before I make a decision. Not sure I could forgive the club for how this has all unravelled. We all deserve much better.

As it stands however I am more likely than not looking at suspending my membership for a year.

Now a full MCC member, so may drop the GFG. Save some money for drinks at the games to get me through them aha

Sorry to hear it. Hope you get to see Max lift the 2025 premiership cup!

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
