What did Goody see in Sparrow that he didn't see in Jordon

If you'd had to make a choice between the two this time last year , the choice was obvious.

As inevitable as the banjo solo in the Swans' theme song is the kneejerk reaction from a number of posters whenever Jordon does anything.

Equally predictable are the cries of "Why did we let him go", although it's been explained 1, 529,677 times that we wanted him to stay and offered him a new contract but that he chose to exercise his Free Agency rights and leave.

Cracking final, by the way!  I was hoping for a GWS win but it was an outstanding match.

One of the reasons I don’t agree with the bye - there should be a greater benefit for finishing top4. But it will never change now.

Don’t like either team however I’m on the Bears tonight as I like Fagan. This could quickly change if I have to hear “Country Road” on repeat tonight.

next year the bye week will probably be used for the play in round. What a load of bollocks that will be

Whatever the course of this game I will be sticking around just to hear more commentary gems like;

"The numbers are painting a story"

scoreless first quarter for carlton. hilarious

Don't fancy Vossy's chances of arresting this deficit.

Well given what has transpired at MFC it's fairly clear why he left

He would put himself on if he could and it would help.

Pretty much a repeat of the Demons v Blues match this year.

Demons 0.0.0 v Blues 5 goals something at qtr time.

Don't blame him he wanted regular games we didn't do that, in a nutshell Goodwin didn't think enough of him full stop.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
