Picked the blues but barracking for sainters.  I remember last year they were losing all game you heard nothing we panicked in the last two minutes   Gifted them the game and they celebrate as if they were champions all blooody day

Stuff them as hard as possible

Are you talking about that semi last year? We may’ve panicked in the last two minutes but we didn’t gift them the win. The score review result gifted them the win when Tracc’s goal was deemed touched by Marchbank when it clearly wasn’t.

Poor Carlton. Imagine having to sit through an entire Fremantle v Port game for any reason.

It won’t make me feel much better about out our year, and it has come at the cost of us finishing 14th (eek), but we are very close to a final series without the blues, pies or bombers. Still the cats, but that’s a grumble for another day.

It’s not a bad side quest win!!

LET’S GO FREO!!!!!!  🤣🤣🤣

Feels like whoever advances between Freo and Carlton will be a "lucky loser".

Surely Brisbane is a huge favourite at the Gabba.

4-4 since 2019,

Although, to be fair, they have won their last 3 there.

(Roughly) ... A 25 point win to Freo gets the Cats up to 2nd spot on the ladder

Cats vs Port or Port vs Cats in a QF

Still a bit to play out

Port win and they play the cats at home.

Lose by more than a a few goals and we all put up with cats demanding they play port at Tax payer Park.

I wonder if Dan Houston is having second thoughts about his second thoughts 🤔

I got such a thrill seeing Carlton  having a last minute loss. I remember their gloating when they so luckily beat us in themFinals last season( and during the season if I remember correctly).

It annoys me how the Carlton fans scream for “ BALL” every time the opposition touch the ball. It works after a while, with the undisputed “ noise of affirmation” affecting the umps.

Wonder how this guy is feeling ATM:

If only someone eliminated this [censored]’s career 🙄

Imagine needing Freo to do something you need them to do. A less reliable club you won’t find.

That wasn't the semi that was during the season. The semi was acres goal when we did panic.

So cathartic watching the blues lose by a kick with 33 seconds left.

What would be funnier? Carlton missing out, or Carlton scraping in and getting smashed by Brisbane? 😂

Missing out

This is the worst way to miss finals

Lose to a team with nothing to play for in the last 15 seconds

Go Blues!

Prelim window has closed

Sorry if already mentioned but what has to happen in this match to get Carlton into the eight?

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.

  • POSTGAME: North Melbourne

The Demons are finally back at the MCG and finally back on the winners list as they continually chipped away at a spirited Kangaroos side eventually breaking their backs and opening the floodgates to run out winners by 6 goals.
