As Jordan Lewis said, good clubs keeps this in house without the leaks etc.

From the article

The 28-year-old has not been able to keep his sense of dissatisfaction with the club to himself, with teammates, opposition players and industry figures increasingly aware of his feelings as he recuperated from the life-altering injury suffered on King’s Birthday.

It's damning and incredibly disappointing to read that Petracca is airing and venting his frustrations about the footy club to opposition players and industry key figures.

I get he's an emotional person but this is very poor look.

Agreed.

Reading between the lines re Jordan Lewis' comments about people ''running their own agendas'' I couldn't help but sense he was taking a significant swipe at Petracca.

I’m not complaining about the crowds at all, nor have I wrung my hands at Houston’s apparent about-face, nor ANB leaving, nor CP5s situation.

In any case, it’s an observation of the near calamitous decline in living standards for a non trivial portion of the population and discretionary spending decisions.

Cost of living is definitely an issue for some and totally understand that.

But there would be a decent chunk of supporters who aren't effected by COL and just choose not to go.

Open secret? First I've heard of it... tell that to my 5 year old who waited an hour for his signature at the family day... he was great BTW.

We worship Trac and deserve to know what's happening and why it can't be sorted and he stays happily.

I posted about 2 months ago that there were some disgruntled players. Trac is one of the players.

I don’t want him to leave, nor Oliver, but I think we could bring in some new people and ideas to our footy dept. I think that would go a long way to appeasing some of the players. More so than a new home base etc

My son (8) came home from school yesterday and confidently confirmed that the word in the schoolyard is “Christian Petracca spelled ‘TRADE ME’ in noodles in one of the recipes he was making for his cooking channel”…

The signs have been there all along, apparently.

I will reiterate to all to not cast blame or play amateur detective or post any unsubstantiated rumour that you heard from a friend or a friend about who leaked what & where.

Leaks can occur a number of different ways and there is not always an agenda or malice intended.

Posting unsubstantiated rumors or speculation about who leaked information is not only unhelpful, but it can also be harmful to individuals and to our community as a whole.

Engaging in rumor-mongering or playing "amateur detective" can have serious legal implications. This forum, as well as its users, could face legal action if baseless accusations lead to defamation or other legal issues.

The integrity of our forum is paramount. Posts that contain unsubstantiated rumors or accusations may be removed, regardless of the other content in the post. This is to protect both the individuals involved and the community as a whole.

Resist the urge to guess or make assumptions about who might be responsible for a leak. Such actions can lead to unnecessary drama and potential harm.

I'm not saying you can't discuss leaks or express dissatisfaction with them, but please be careful not to single out or blame any individual as responsible for those leaks.

If you have concerns or believe that certain information should not have been posted because it contravenes these rules please use the report function to report it to the forum moderators rather than quoting the post and proliferating it further.

Please keep that in mind when you post.

That maggot Craig McCrae ,"jokingly" saying trac would look great in black and white and they'd love to have him. Can even have his car park.

In the US this would be considered tampering and cop a massive fine . But it's Collingwood and flea just a bit of banter. Seriously planting a seed like this shouldn't be allowed

Interesting to hear JJJ. Sounds like you have some inside information. Do you happen to know what they were disgruntled about specifically? Is it a game style thing given you mention new ideas?

I’d rather not say too much. Most of what is said in the media at the moment is around the mark. There are a few other bits and pieces but given the rules of Demonland I will zip it.

Calm down lol

It's banter and words. Saying exactly every other coach would agree with.

Nothing wrong with it.

True. He’d be smashed for that.

My exact thought now.

If he's genuinely having this much of a tantrum we should trade him, it's too toxic and corrosive having players that don't want to be there at the club.

If it’s blatantly untrue, all Tracc has to do is come out and say he’s got no issues and there’s no story.

Gawn basically only said that Tracc has a contract with the club and so did the MFC. That doesn’t mean there aren’t issues.

If neither Tracc, Gawn or the club is explicitly coming out and saying it’s not true and these are indeed just rumours, then the only sensible inference to take is that it’s true.

I have no doubt Trac has expressed his feelings to the club ..in fact Goody referenced it but it’s more how him/his team have played this out. He would absolutely know that as 29 yrs old ..his contract etc …the only teams with currency are not be going to win a premiership in the next couple of years. As I said I’d personally be very happy to take the draft picks & add to our young talent…he might not be happy but I’m not overly happy with him. Instead of the first default action where it’s always  the MFC’s fault..maybe Gawn and others aren’t overly happy with how Trac’s handled/engineered this. A player is the sum of the club & its supporters ..no player should be bigger than the club & when all is said  & done…MFC will continue to be our club of choice. I’m more unhappy about losing ANB …

Trac has been upset with the club for a while. I think the KBD game and the days following pushed him over the edge.

His unhappiness has been an open secret for some time.

The club and Petracca are both in no win situations now regarding public statements. Everyone involved, including his management share the blame for this ridiculous situation.

I heard a lot of things last year, but was told to keep quiet. Things have been brewing for a long time…

I’m sure there’s a few teams that are in the flag window that could make it happen if all parties are willing. Freo and the Swans for starters.

I don't see a difference. Both are examples of a journalist reporting the player in question is frustrated/disgruntled. Neither went on the record and said their piece publicly.

Freo are the only team with draft or player capital. Even their current draft hand is unders (8,13,17). That isnt going to nett you the next Petracca. It would take 1 pick in the top 5, 1 in top 10 and a player to start the conversation. Why? PA want to first rounders for Houston.... that is why.

The salary or contract shouldn't even be a factor. No other club would even batter an eye for paying him circa 1M pa for the next 5, there would be plenty who go upwards of putting a 8M contract in front of him.

Not able to say anything as i made it quite clear, but these last few days are not suprising to me at all.
There MUST be major changes made this Summer, We need new voices and new ideas

Fair enough let's hope they make these changes and get back on Tracc... funny thing is the team isn't that bad if they are all on the same pages we could definitely make finals next year

  • REPORT: Richmond

The fans who turned up to the MCG for Melbourne’s Anzac Day Eve clash against Richmond would have been disappointed if they turned up to see a great spectacle. As much as this was a night for the 71,635 in attendance to commemorate heroes of the nation’s past wars, it was also a time for the Melbourne Football Club to consolidate upon its first win after a horrific start to the 2025 season. On this basis, despite the fact that it was an uninspiring and dour struggle for most of its 100 minutes, the night will be one for the fans to remember. They certainly got value out of the pre match activity honouring those who fought for their country. The MCG and the lights of the city as backdrop was made for nights such as these and, in my view, we received a more inspirational ceremony of Anzac culture than others both here and elsewhere around the country.

  • CASEY: Richmond

The match up of teams competing in our great Aussie game at its second highest level is a rarity for a work day Thursday morning but the blustery conditions that met the players at a windswept Casey Fields was something far more commonplace. They turned the opening stanza between the Casey Demons and a somewhat depleted Richmond VFL into a mess of fumbling unforced errors, spilt marks and wasted opportunities for both sides but they did set up a significant win for the home team which is exactly what transpired on this Anzac Day round opener. Casey opened up strong against the breeze with the first goal to Aidan Johnson, the Tigers quickly responded and the game degenerated into a defensive slog and the teams were level when the first siren sounded.

After five consecutive defeats, the Demons have now notched up back-to-back victories, comfortably accounting for the Tigers in the traditional ANZAC Eve clash. They surged to a commanding 44-point lead early in the final quarter before easing off the pedal, resting skipper Max Gawn and conceding the last four goals of the game to close out a solid 20-point win.
