even the bit about trac never having had a significant injury before?

people forget he did his acl in his first season

Yeah other than that part, but the angle of turning a bad situation perhaps into a good one. Being proactive and risk taking rather than reactive and pretending its perfectly fine for players to be doing x, y and z

I don't think much of Petracca in all this, but the players who blabbed to a journalist about the private meeting are absolute clowns. The place is burning down and three of them are happy stoking the fire by giving tips to the media. Everyone seems to be in this for themselves, which explains a bit...

Good clubs don't leak.

Its like the club are so behind the 8 ball here. Players just leaking to all and sundry, can they at least just start posting it on demonland? We members pay the bills, not journos hahaha.

I don't think they talked about the meeting, just that Trac's issues had been mentioned multiple times. It's written to make it look like Max, Vines and Spaz all talked to the media.

Why does our playing group leak like a sieve? It's a very poor look for all concerned that details of private meetings make there way into the press like this.

While I agree, I also imagine that like all of us they are hurting with what is playing out in the media.  They probably feel like what is reported is not accurate and so it's their way of flying the flag... which actually just adds to the noise and probably does the opposite of what they intended.  They are human too.

I honestly think when Kozzie heard Tracc and ANB wanted out he was annoyed because he had been waiting for his chance to also ask for a trade. Dare I say it, Id be more worried about losing Koz than just about anyone else. This year he has shown he isnt just an attacking forward, but a solid player that can wear a hit and keep his feet.

Good article by ex-swans player Ryan O’Keefe who requested a trade from the Swans which was denied. He went onto to win the Swans B&F the following year. Funny how an ex-player. Sydney great makes perfect sense yet we give these hacks like McClure “I honestly can’t see Carlton losing a match in the home & away season” & Morris “ I won’t be repeating his history of obnoxious comments” …air time. Absolute click bait jockeys !!!

Perhaps, but trade period doesn't open for 6 weeks and at least one of the clubs being mentioned is still involved in finals and laying low. There's also the B&F in early Oct, if that's a factor.

If this has any legs you would imagine that things will ramp up over the coming month. But still lots of ifs in all that.

There are serious bushfires at this club right now and if people are still completely delusional about it then I really want what you're having.

And do people really think ANB would be leaving if we were a genuine prospect for 2025?

I've found a solution tonight to the stress of our footy club burning down.

My dad listened to country music a lot while I was a kid and I truly hated it.

I discovered Johnny Cash a decade or so  ago and then Drive by Truckers, The Graveyard Train, Justin Townes Earle etc etc.

While I love garage, punk music etc a lot. Country has a special place in my heart now and Gillian Welch and Dave Rawlings are truly one of my favourite artists. The harmonies, the tumbling guitar lines by Dave are beautiful.

I thoroughly recommend listening to their new album while reading the apocalypse on this site.

You are highly likely to just give up the thread, put the phone down and grab a beer or a glass of wine and wrap yourself in their exquisite music.

If I can save a couple of demonlanders from this thread for a few hours, I'll be happy.

Hope a few of you tune in and drop out.

All the best to you all. Some big messy stuff ahead for our club but there's more to life than footy.

Love Brownie.

Oh come on! “The club did this, the club didn’t do this, likewise the players … that’s why I want to trade out” … “But only to Carlton or Collingwood.”

We are not fools!

Yes

Unless you know why he’s leaving, please stop commenting about it

He is leaving for completely legitimate reasons, and if anyone in Trac’s camp is saying otherwise then they’re just spreading vicious lies!

Is there a definitive list of Tracc's beefs with the club?

I guess there will not be until he makes a statement. The club will not likely go into specifics.

In the meantime the media make up stories.

also in the meantime the club should play hard ball.

This is exactly how many  journalists are operating now, link hearsay comments in a way that they know will misinterpreted. I have noticed this year many stories include the quoting of X sources who asked to remain anonymous due to the sensitive nature of the matter. This is carte blanche to say whatever they want to and attribute it to nobody in particular and therefore can't be called out for it. McClure is one of the worst at this and it's little wonder his journalism award was rescinded.

it begins with e and end with o

hint: 3 letter word

Hold on - I thought I had it but now not so sure…

could be

eao - spoken by environmental scientists, or those outsourcing applications

ebo - short for Ebola (harsh)

edo - capital of Japan 🇯🇵 and associated cuisine.

eeo - equal employment opportunity. ???- don’t think he’s disadvantaged??

efo - earnings from operations (self expl). But also a type of African spinach!

ego - it’s not a dirty word - don’t you believe what you’ve seen or you’ve heard.

eho - environmental health officer. Also, ‘hey’ in Spanish 🇪🇸

eio - usually used here and there with a preceding ‘quack, quack and ei’. Ask TMac. Also possibly a bus connection.

ejò - snake.
éjò - burnt rubble or ash / burnt bacon (both Espérantos - and, oddly, could work for some).

eko - Nigerian dish made from corn/cornstarch.

elo - don’t bring me down (groos).

emo - less dark than goth.

eno - handy after a dodgy vindaloo or night on the turps. Can be taken orally, or listened to in a dark room.

eoo - only said by environmental scientists, or after tasting something particularly bad.

epo - can’t find any? I’ll call my bombres mate.

eqo - also said by environmental scientists. Or playing the round ball game.

ero - see eeo. Also something to do with boats.

eso - handy in an emergency. Not sure if we have one?

eto - Ahh. Could be many things, usually estimated, including ‘time off’.

euo - you’re under (Ken)oath.

evo - usually found with rice(-rs)

ewo - could be educational - could be warfare. Who knows?

exo - pricey. On the outer. K-Pop. ??

eyo - Nigerian festival

ezo - ‘land of the barbarians’. Believed to refer currently to the AIA centre, and previously Vic park.

So, a lot of them work  - to varying degrees.

Isn't it odd that no one talks about Hawthorn's club culture anymore... even though that nasty issue beginning with R hasn't been resolved fully. Oh yeah, that's right, they're in the finals and are currently everyone's (read AFL & Media) darling!

Pies had a little flare up of their own issues recently with regards to their CEO - didn’t seem to get any legs despite being ongoing for a while.

Other clubs get on with things behind closed doors, I’m not sure why some on here think we need the board/CEO to get up and dance every time the media monkeys start cranking their organs

Yes, wants to build his brand as an abstract impressionist.

Hoping Tracc is more Dada like.

The way it’s going it will be easier to list the players that will be there next season.

Only Melb could self destruct like this after the premiership.

Very long time lurker of this forum (used to remember reading this forum religiously non stop since 06 when I started year 7) and have loved this club pretty much since my 8th birthday.

I can no longer bite my tongue. My mum works at Leo Supermarkets and has worked with a relative of Trac’s for quite a long time (she shared photos of a family gathering a few months ago, so she isn’t lying) and she definitively told us that to her knowledge, Petracca has not discussed a trade and more importantly, the family’s grievances towards the club is merely one of mental and emotional scarring since the Queen’s Birthday incident (near death experience particularly).

Naturally, it’ll literally take time to heal and time is the healer of all scars.

Knowing the media now made up the McKay trade rumors (manager came out with a strong vengeance saying under NO circumstances is McKay being traded), who is to say they are 110% right on everything else?

Wouldn’t even surprise me if the entire “brand” narrative the media is trying to push is twisted to no end. Petracca realizes now that the footy journey doesn’t last forever, so can anyone begrudge him for wanting to think about his financial placing and post footy life?

Speaking to this relative of Petracca’s, I honestly got no indication of him leaving. She may or may not told me the 100% truths, but until Petracca or his management come out and definitively tell us he is leaving, everything else is just irrelevant noise.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
