Trac is not. Trac needs football, and a big following to be a social media star.

That is the difference.

One final thing that I also want to address that there have been several users in this thread who have repeatedly ignored the rules that were clearly outlined. Despite multiple warnings, both in this thread and through the website's warning system, these individuals have now been banned.

That's how serious I am taking this.

It's unfortunate, as some of these users were long-time contributors to the site, and it's a shame that they couldn't follow some straightforward rules.

I want to make it clear that I do not enjoy enforcing bans or being heavy-handed in moderating this website. Some of the more recent rules have been implemented out of a legal necessity and an abundance of caution. In these cases, I was left with no choice but to take action, as I’ve reached my limit in trying to maintain fairness while also protecting the community.

I truly appreciate your cooperation and understanding as we work to keep this platform safe and enjoyable for everyone.

Hi Andy,

I’ve gone through all your directives in this thread, but I’m still a bit unclear. Are you emphasising that it’s crucial we avoid naming or blaming private individuals on this platform? Because if that’s what you’re saying, then I’m understanding it to mean that it’s essential not to name or blame private individuals here.

Please confirm if that’s correct.

Thanks,

It would wear out a lot quicker than George Gawn singing 17 rival club songs, that's for sure!

I think so too. I think his followers will dry up the moment he leaves the football scene as well.

This whole ****show has shown his true colours and in the current world, his entitled attitude won’t appeal to many people let alone sponsors.

I thought about this too and was really on the fence.

In the end it depends on if and how he can redeem himself from this point.

Not sure I agree with this...

You don't make exceptions for one person.

One of his alleged gripes is apparently that we make exceptions for some when we shouldn't.

The idea that the club will fold if Trac leaves is just hyperbole. I presume this was written in an emotional moment.

I wrote that 2.5 weeks ago when the story first broke.

If the truth lies at the Trac end of the spectrum, and the club has messed up as much as he is going to allege, then it will all come out, and we will go into 2025 with our formerly most popular, talented and marketable player playing somewhere else whilst we try to get out of the bottom 6 with potentially no big name recruits to add to the list, playing in front of tiny crowds in dud timeslots, and ongoing off field distractions.

It may have been hyperbolic and was definitely driven by emotion but I don’t think it’s that outlandish.

That is incredible pressure. Someone must have something to hide if you can't even say "X is a jolly good fellow" even in a thread about jolly good fellows.

It does if you assume this is simply not about football.  The genie is out of the bottle.  His account has grown 2+ percent this month. His engagement rate (comments and likes per followers) is through the absolute roof.  His google searches is high. These are his key performance metrics now.   As much as we may not like it Brand Petracca is crushing it right now.

Integrity, loyalty and character is not needed for social media status and sponsorship.  In fact I'd argue the more ego driven the higher you go.   Will he permanently damage his brand? If it lasted years, of course.  But if it's a 2 month surge he will be much further ahead.   Will another club worry of the sort of person they re bringing in?  Well, plenty of clubs are willing to overlook past records etc.  He will say he's happy to be there, get back to work and they will lap it up, especially if he is able them to get them to a GF on the cheap.    Frankly, this sort of stuff happens in other professional sporting codes regularly, this was always destined to happen to AFL, sucks it's us.

A case of any publicity being good publicity? I guess if they covert that increase into permanent viewers then it works.

Sounds like it's out of the Conor McGregor or Jake/Logan Paul book.

With the recent confirmation that some of our players do in fact read Demonland, I'm beginning to wonder if perhaps this is Petracca getting revenge for that one time we all called him fat on here?

Hard to believe but someone in my office, a Collingwood supporter, actually told me yesterday that Max should've retired two years ago.

Basically inferring that he is overrated and past his due date. 😆

That's garbage but there is an argument to say the club has been built around Max and the game plan is in essence kick it to Max down the line.

I love Max but IMO its the cause of a lot of the onfield issues. Arguably its why the Grundy trade didn't work. The club and Max weren't prepared to compromise and Grundy had limited flexibility onfield.

I was making the point to other posters. But I concede it is a little ambiguous and opaque. My point was to support you - not make fun.

By numbers the majority of Trac5 followers are not interested in football.  Trac5 is over 2 times his personal account and growing pretty fast.

I would not be surprised if he did speak or issue a statement it will be through his ig page.

Neale was exploring moving back to Perth for family reasons. There is no evidence he had a problem with the Lions or teammates. It was no big deal for him to change his mind which he did quickly after the story broke. Totally different to the Tracc situation.

Not to water down Trac’s traumatic experience, but pretty much every woman who’s given birth via c-section is awake during abdominal surgery.

Also, the headline from triple m was misconstrued. The surgeon asked for the number after his surgery was finished, not before, which I assume was primarily to tell his family he was out of surgery.

I took a straw poll amongst the Carlton fans at work today. No way do they want to swap trac for harry mckay. Not sure how representative of the broader Carlton faithful but they were pretty emphatic. His age is also a concern.

i think trac and us are overestimating his value.

There’s definitely some mayo there. I don’t doubt he was in critical condition due to primarily blood loss.

But for surgeons to lose a patient presenting with his condition would be very unlikely.

The only fact is that Tracc is dealing with trauma. At no point has he, his manager or the club stated that he is seeking a trade.

I would be pretty certain that the club didn't leak information from his exit meeting. Join the dots.

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
