Does BBB get a farewell match next week if he has kicked 5.

laurie is as good as gone. His last turnover kick is so far below any standard it’s a joke. Get rid of him

BBB? Paul bastard looks like he’s treading water.

To be fair, it’s pretty warm 😎

Treading water and kicking 6. Get him in. One last game for a loyal servant and a great bloke

Re K Brown. He’s working on becoming more damaging by foot. IE taking the riskier option. Haven’t watched the game but presumably that could be impacting his DE%

N. Moyle, Lukosious, Sexton, Oea, Rosas & Fiorini would all get a run in the Melbourne 1sts at the moment!!!

And people keep saying we should drop player x or y from the seniors.....and replace them with what we saw today at Casey???

I've always liked Sexton when I have seen him.

What a drubbing. How can we get our hands on Ned Moyle? The Suns are stacked with talent. Amazing that they have depth and still will likely miss finals in the AFL

He's seen as the heir apparent to Witts. It's just a shame that we don't have a similar player at the club. Verrall is bog average.

He looks good and can play forward.

Ben Brown a credible performance but Matthew Jefferson virtually unsighted difficult to visualise a 2024 debut now. Roy George had a go with a little bit of X factor hidden under his bushel. AMW’s confidence has grown with senior experience this season. Endurance, speed, combative in the clinches and shows a penchant for breaking the lines. Another preseason set to take on the big league.

I think we need a bit of perspective, most of the suns best players are all late 20s and solid afl level players, similar to what we had in 2021/22. A few like sexton and Fiorini will probably be off their list next year

Talent gulf between Suns and Casey appears huge. Yet prior to the North paupers being bestowed the AFL’s bounteous largesse this mob were regularly crying poor. Cargo Cult is alive and well, plus they also bend bananas.

If you've followed Casey all year, there's been plenty of games where Casey has been stacked with senior players. The problem is that most of these players have been recruited from other clubs, and are either past it, or are unmotivated.

Casey have been putrid all year even when they've had the more experience.

Kynan Brown looks very promising.

AMW has some talent but needs to improve his kicking.

You seem to have mixed up the two!

Our 13 goals was ok and we are missing a midfield and some ruckmen, but when a side kicks 27 goals against you and your 2 tall defenders Schache 12 Adams 9 only get it a megre amount of times, whilst AMW has 35 possessions it's embarassing.

On today’s showing, there’s been a complete fail in recruitment.

X McAdam likes to receive but his 2nd effort is non existent and tackling doesn’t try.  No.

X Laurie. No. Ok at VFL level but too slow at next level

Schache  Suburban footy next year  NO

🤯Verrall. No - unless he gets into the gym

🤔Fullerton   I think he stays and needs to show what he can do   Had good contest and like his movement   Give him  a go in 2025

(Moyle destroyed us in the ruck again)

👍🏻KBrown.  No. Heart yes. Tackling yes. Disposal is poor. Summer in the kicking squad !!!

🤔Kentfield… give him 12 more months

💔Woey jnr has gone backwards   Not sure he has the desire   Must be annoyed at being sub for 6 games and often quickly dropped  might ask to go home to WA

🤔Jefferson.🤔 Adams.  Not there yet. Queries but must stay in the list at least for 2025.

👏👏BBB - Six goals and showed his marking ability still exists…it’s a shame he’s got no knee cartilage left. Retires next week

👏👏ANW - again showed he’s too good at this level   Lowers his eyes to hit targets  Was overwhelmed in 2nd half

👏Roan Steele.  Like his run and carry.  Oops he’s not even in MFC list 🤣🤣

I agree. That’s where we are at right at the moment of time, but this will change.

Of course, it’s not the backline, you might argue and you would probably be right. It’s the boot studder (do they still have them?), the midfield, the recruiting staff, the forward line, the kicking coach, the Board, the interchange bench, the supporters, the folk at Casey, the head coach and the club psychologist  It’s all of them and all of us for having expectations that were sufficiently high to have believed three weeks ago that a restoration of the Melbourne team to a position where we might still be in contention for a finals berth when the time for the midseason bye arrived. Now let’s look at what happened over the period of time since Melbourne overwhelmed the Sydney Swans at the MCG in late May when it kicked 8.2 to 5.3 in the final quarter (and that was after scoring 3.8 to two straight goals in the second term).

  • CASEY: Essendon

Casey’s unbeaten run was extended for at least another fortnight after the Demons overran a persistent Essendon line up by 29 points at ETU Stadium in Port Melbourne last night. After conceding the first goal of the evening, Casey went on a scoring spree from about ten minutes in, with five unanswered majors with its fleet of midsized runners headed by the much improved Paddy Cross who kicked two in quick succession and livewire Ricky Mentha who also kicked an early goal. Leading the charge was recruit of the year, Riley Bonner while Bailey Laurie continued his impressive vein of form. With Tom Campbell missing from the lineup, Will Verrall stepped up to the plate demonstrating his improvement under the veteran ruckman’s tutelage. The Demons were looking comfortable for much of the second quarter and held a 25-point lead until the Bombers struck back with two goals in the shadows of half time. On the other side of the main break their revival continued with first three goals of the half. Harry Sharp, who had been quiet scrambled in the Demons’ first score of the third term to bring the margin back to a single point at the 17 minute mark and the game became an arm-wrestle for the remainder of the quarter and into the final moments of the last.
